    bought a psp

yes, i decide to hunker down and buy one even though i really cant afford it. i bought lions war and crisis core. i am enjoying it so far with the big screen and i find the small disk kinda wierd, its like a cd floppy or something. those two titles sold it for me, i just couldnt pass it up any longer. does anyone elses psp run the disk at sonic speed for a second making a high pitched read noise while its loading?

what other titles should i check out? i still need to get a ps3 so i can play metal gear 4.

Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!

I liked the Dracula X Chronicles, but if you don't like sidescrollers... Then I guess don't get it.

      Don't copy that floppy!

If you can find the Mega Man games I guess they're pretty good.

I'm the only one who loves Portable Ops so don't take MY word for it. Then again will concede to its aggravating controls and PO+ is pretty useless unless you want improved characters and multiplayer. But MGS4 is about to make all that moot anyway. Sigh.

Dracula X Chronicles is pretty PHAT especially for the included SotN extra unless you've played that to death already like I did and got pretty bored of it pretty fast.

Uuuhhhh ... FFT: WotL is stellar. So stellar in fact I considered playing it forever and ever until I decided I don't really need too ... leveling up Cloud and other characters is unnecessary considering how easy the game gets in the end. Still, awesome game.

SH: Origins is okay if you wanna see what portable horror can technically be like even if the game itself is pretty mediocre.

I couldn't get into Patapon but you can't beat that price.

            Hunker.

I got a PSP for the same reason. Crisis Core is fun nostalgia in a pretty new case, and War of the Lions is like someone sexied up the original with a glossy new translation that very well pulls off the fantasy feel. The VA for both is kind of ghey, though. Even the parts that sound natural enough are still kind of meh.

the megaman games are still my favorite PSP games. megaman powered up has a great level editor, and a built-in interface for sharing levels online. I still havent gotten bored with it.

Armored Core Formula Front: Extreme Battle is good. I like the aspect of making an AI. Butt here is manual mode as well.

Mega Man X is a very, very good game. This is the way a remake should be done! After you beat the game with Mega Man, Vile is unlocked as a playable character, allowing you to play the game with a different point of view. Not only that, but an actual Mega Man anime is unlocked! It's not some crappy 15 minute anime either. I think, but I'm not sure being I haven't played the game in a while, it actually lasts 40 minutes, give or take a few. When the anime was done, it actually left me wanting more.

I made the mistake of playing that game in the student longue and people started looking at me funny. But it's no worse than playing Crisis Core and hearing Zack yell "I'm trying! I'm trying!"

I've been meaning to buy more, but I don't even play 90% of the games I already own. So, yeah. And Monster Hunter Freedom 2 is only if you like grinding. Otherwise forget it.

I got Lumines II, Valkyrie Profile, Monster Hunter Freedom 2, LocoRoco, MGPO and FFT:TWotL. I wanna get Patapon and Echochrome, though.

Echochrome (I've only played the demo, but am planning on downloading both the PS3 and PSP versions...it's not even available at retail, is it?) and Patapon are both worth getting, especially at their respective prices. I've got about 10 other games not worth mentioning, and about a half a dozen UMD movies/TV shows. I bought WTF for $10. If you can find it that cheap, it might be worth getting, especially if you've never had access to a system that played Wario Ware (even though WTF is a poor man's version of that game).

As for the discs themselves, they seem to me to basically be revamped Minidiscs, which, of course, are/were another proprietary Sony format.

I'm just waiting for Jeanne d' Arc to drop to closeout at my work, and I'll probably pick that up. And if you've got Wifi available to you, check out the PSP's internet radio fuctionality. I've was jonesing for it the week that I didn't have the internet. It's perfect to find a suitable station, and then just let it play for hours while working on an RPGM game....anything's gotta be better than editor music. In fact, the multimedia capabilities of both the PS3 and the PSP are, to me, the main draw of both systems. Meh....but then again, I'm a weirdo.

I concur with all said about WotL. Jeanne D'Arc is a bit easy, but it's okay. Warhammer 40k: Sqaud Command is actually a pretty fun, challanging game.

Also, I don't know what temporary insanity made SOCOM Tactical Strike 2 look fun to me, but it is not.
