this hight've been done before, but here goes.......
Create a dungeon with one big room that's 7 tiles wide and 10 tiles long. place 2 tiles at the center top of the rectangle, and a door on the tiles second from the top. place a character to be the "pilot" in the small 1x1 room you've made. Now, place a bunch of warp points along the walls of the big room (1 for each town in the game). In the towns, place a bunch of events with Warp point Graphics and set the event codes to be "displayed off" when variableX is below a certain (or just plain NOT) a certain number. When variableX is the number, warp the player to a specific point in the airship, like if front of the event (as in several feet-if you warp the player ONTO the warp point, hello loopsville) that warps the player back to the town (or just toss the player into the middle of the room). Now, you can add elevators and/or satirs and doors to add more floors and/or rooms, and if you can, place the graphics (or duplicates) of your other party members around the airship.
Again, I'm sorry if someone already came up with this.
