As the title suggests, I'm just making this post so the VX forum doesn't look so piddy and sad. So! Here is a list of random questions that you can feel free to answer or not to answer.......
1) How do you like RPG Maker VX so far?
2) Have you come up with any cool game ideas that you would like to share?
3) What cha wearin'?

1) I don't have it, but from what I can tell, XP might be a better choice for the money.
2) None that I haven't posted in the Workshop already, and none with VX in mind.
3. A pair of dark blue carpenter jeans, briefs (boxers give me constant wedgies), and a tan shirt that has a donut with stick figure limbs hiding behind a wall with some stick figure cops and a squad car in the background with text that says "I'm hiding from the cops."

It seems to me that Enterbrain/Agetec has had a string of bad luck with releasing poorer versions of RPG Makers than their predecessors(if that makes sense). Obviously, at least in my opinion, with RPG Maker 2 and 3, sure RPG Maker 3 looks pretty, and RPG Maker 2 is complicated and is making use of the Bomber Man graphics like its going out of style, but RPG Maker 2 is definetly the better game, simply because of the lack of versatility in RPG Maker 3. As with RPG Maker XP and VX, XP has more defined graphics, and almost everything(if not everything) is very "detailed". But then somebody thought it would be a good idea to use NES/SNES graphics on VX, and so far from what I've heard, not too many people are liking that one as much either. My hopes are that this is just a dark time with a lot of drinking and emotional problems and that the companies will bounce back with a couple of great new releases.
VX also uses the first person view battles right? When will Enterbrain learn? Use a third person view battle system!

Sorry this reply is so late. Anyway, I'm pretty sure you can actually mess around with scripts and get the side battle view, although I couldn't tell you how 'cuz I'm horrible with scripts:D
Yes I know, people make battle scripts, but I'm talking about the default system.

For me i happen to like how they done away with seperate icons. As well as one universal tileset. But i wish there was more than one universal tileset. Like give me five or ten.
For example what i did with the iconset

And the fact is scrolling and the simplified status.

Thats an oxymoron. You can't have more than one universal tileset, if its universal, there can be only one.

That'd be like saying you can only have one shared variable in RPGM3. I don't really know how tilesets work in VX, but I think by "universal" he means a tileset whose tiles you can use in every map. Or something like that. You still could theoretically have more then one, although it may be more efficient to add to the existing one.

Unlike in XP, each map is not assigned a tileset. All usable tiles are available for use in each map.

Ahh, I see what he was driving at now. Thats an idea I could get behind.
