    Ke's Tales Short Story Ideas

I have a lot of short story ideas, but don't have what is either the time or the patience to write them all down. While itching to share soem of those ideas, I will post some idea summaries on this site.

    Please, do share your opinions!

    Yes....I know....it's a dorky thread.

"The New Punk on the Block"

    Ke's Tales
The New Punk on the Block

Brad Dackerson- one of the most famous celebrities in the world of the paranormal and supernatural and the latest addition to SAVIOR. While still a professional-in-training, his great adventures are immortalized and his face and likeness are pictured on all forms of media on this and other worlds. To many, he’s the textbook definition of perfect professional work and the idol of many heroic hopefuls.

However, in real life, he’s a total jerk. Ke Blazer learns this personally when she’s assigned to escort the egotistical celebrity around town for one day. Brad’s “confidence” and “boldness” quickly wears on Ke’s nerves, and things only get worse when Brad starts to publicly insult a local, feared criminal. Without heeding any of Ke’s warnings, Brad continues to insult the bad guy without care or concern.

Then things take a sinister turn. Secrets about Brad’s fame reach Ke’s sights and the insulted criminal comes out for revenge against the bold agent. Ke finds herself, along with her friends, in waist-deep trouble that is nothing short of devastating chaos.

      "Tough Justice"

      Ke's Tales
      Tough Justice

      “Night Stalker.”

What image enters your mind when you hear these words? Do you see a man running down an alleyway draped in dark clothing? How about a dark figure creeping within the shadows cast by the moonlight? To the people of Port Dover, Michigan, Night Stalker is a masked crusader out to cleanse the streets of a city gone bad. He’s a symbol of hope and security with his courageous escapades to the people of the city. However, with his use of extreme violence, he is also a figure of controversy and an inspiration of fear to both the people he fights as well as the ones he protects. The citizens of Port Dover both love and loathe the masked hero of violent justice. But despite how much displeasure is expressed towards Night Stalker, his actions don’t seem to have any negative effects on the common good.

      Or so people think!

Meanwhile, a little to the south, the criminals ran out of Port Dover by Night Stalker make their way to Northtown, Michigan, causing crime to rise to a dangerously alarming rate. Local SAVIOR agent Ke Blazer, upon learning of the cause of the migration of offenders, travels to Port Dover to speak with Night Stalker about the problem. But each time she meets with the hero, she’s ignored, told to leave town, and even fought! To make matters even worse, Ke finds that thing’s are a lot more serious than previously thought. With the continuing, carnage-laden campaign of Night Stalker, the rise of a masked villain called “the Anti-Stalker”, and a shadowy conspiracy in which Night Stalker seemed to ally himself in, Ke’s got her work cut out for her. But if she doesn’t do anything, and whether it’s Night Stalker himself or an innocent bystander, it’s only a matter of time before somebody gets hurt.

        Re: "Tough Justice"

I keep a notebook at work where I write random ideas down, and then transcribe them all to my word file of story ideas to be expounded upon later and at my leisure, because otherwise I'll forget half of them.

The problem I've had with this is that I write stuff down, but don't expand upon it enough so that I can recall what the **** I was thinking about in the first place.

I suggest writing it all down, even if you think you don't have time or motivation to do so. I'm fairly certain I've forgotten some awesome ideas because I didn't write them down at the time.

And as for Night Stalker, it seems a bit derivative of Batman's entire dark, masked, vigilante character. It would work excellently as a parody or an omage to Batman, but otherwise it just seems like a huge ripoff.

Yeah, I try to right songs. Sometimes, late at night, while lying awake in bed I come up with some awesome songs, and I even grab my guitar and play a little. But, i never can seem to recall what I came up with the next day. I probably have wrote masterpeice afeter masterpeice.Oh well, too bad.

As for these short stories, I enjoyed both ideas. But, I'm always a sucker for a gritty superhero. I think Night Stalker is a pretty cool idea. Maby you should add a twist where Night Stalker is framed for the murder of the town's mayor or some innocent little girl or maby a pregnant lady.

I like "Night Stalker," once I got over the brief "why must you hate on folk heroes" thing. But I like it. An unpredictable vigilante is a better character then a mass murderer.

And his name will be Josh. Because Josh is a friend of mine. Who was a squirrel in our stories.

I kinda do that. I carry a notebook with me everywhere and write down critical parts of stories so I don't forget them.

Ah, time is such a cruel mistress.

Actually, his real name is Steve Marrows. Maybe I can incorporate that name in my story, though....(If I ever get around to writing it!!!! )

....Oh wait, you mean the squirrel? Oh, I thought you ment Night Stalker!

                I'm SO glad you responded!

Actually, "Tough Justice" is basically about vigilante justice gone wrong. When reading/watching stories like this, I always wonder, "When do these guys go to far? When do they bend the law so far that they actually break it?"

As for twists, there is what I think is one involving the Anti-Stalker and the conspiracy mentioned at the end of the summary. I mean, it's ironic, but I'm not sure it's a twist.

...Oh, but as I side note, I decided to write and (hopefully) publish one or two collections of Ke's Tales short stories before I work on the novel. Both the stories already mentioned would be included (as well as some from the game I'm working on). But yet, time is a stingy thing.

Re: Ke's Tales Short Story Ideas

I wrote 20 pages of a random story of mine at work this week. And set up an outline for a collection of fantasy-themed essays I wouldn't mind writing someday in the near future. Plus I'm doing all this crap with the CWS3 on a daily basis.

I'm not trying to boast or brag or anything, but once you get out of school (as in, all school), and you start figuring out where you want to focus your creative side, you'll find you have the time to work on what you want. Until then, work on what you can, write it ALL down if possible, and never stop.

I try my best to support any prose posted in this forum, since it's almost non-existent anymore. I hope you get around to posting actual stories again soon. =)

                      Oh thank you!

I'm told I'll have more free time in college, as opposed to high school. (Oh...and what is the "CWS3"? It sounds awfully familiar...)

Really? Why does everyone picture Batman? Is it the whole "nighttime dark fighter" thing? Ah well. But thanks for your opinion! I was afraid no one was going to respond.

My my. The CWS3 is the Creative Writing Story 3. There's a discussion thread and a story thread in the Imaginari, both on the front page as we speak, because I'm posting the final addition in a few parts, at which point the story is finished. It's exciting for those of us who've been involved with it for the past 6 years.

And I dunno about having more time in college. I dropped out. D= But Mora and Ryu, both of whom were big contributors to the CWS3 (the biggest, after me), were both in college during the large part of its conception, and college seemed to often get in the way of hobbies and writing.

So I dunno. But I hope it works out okay for you. College just wasn't my thing.

Well, college seems right for me. I mean, I am already taking classes out of my schools Dual-Enrollment program, and I seem to be doing fine.

I got great grades in college, I just hated it so much that I stopped going to class.
