    Malaria No More

Today I donated $100 to Malaria No More, and did the same last year, which buys 10 bed nets. I know times are tough, but I urge anyone who can give just a little (as much as $10) to do so, you can make a huge impact in someone's life.

10 bucks a net seems steep, i know they can be bought cheaper. where is the rest of the money going?

its probably funding terrorists or something.

Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!

That's just stupid Caciss. Karr can't be Chief of Homeland Security. He's Canadian. The best he can hope for is Chef of Homeland Security.

Plus all the cool kids are donating to Nothing But Nets.

I gave blood twice in the last 3 weeks. I lied on the questionaire the second time around so I could give blood more than once within 8 weeks. Hey, its for my brothers and besides, I got a PT waiver for the day.

I did the same thing, only it was for an organization called Bite Back! And it cost $12 for a net, medicine, education on safety against malaria, and a few other odds and end for those in need. I didn't know there were multiple organizations doing this, I guess it's a pretty widespread problem.

I think there was a study done saying that for about $9 billion, every group of people in the world without clean drinking water could have springs tapped, and piping put in to transfer water to them.

Too bad it's a lot of the U.S.'s funds are going to Iraq.

April 25th is World Malaria Day, and as part of the 'Nothing But Net' campaign to get mosquito nets to parts of Africa where malaria is a very real and very deadly problem, the UN has commissioned an easy little game called 'Deliver the Net':

The challenge: race the sun and hand out as many insecticide-treated bed nets as you can to African families. The more nets you deliver - before the mosquitoes come out - the more lives you save. Once you're done playing the game, sign up, confirm your email, and a life-saving bed net will be sent on your behalf!
