    Ben Stein: Expelled

    So, Ben Stein is doing a movie, and it actually got my attention.

    Who:Ben Stein, in the new film EXPELLED: No Intelligence Allowed

    What:His heroic and, at times, shocking journey confronting the world’s top scientists, educators and philosophers, regarding the persecution of the many by an elite few.

    When:Coming to a theater near you on April 18, 2008

    Where:Ben travels the world on his quest, and learns an awe-inspiring truth…that bewilders him, then angers him…and then spurs him to action!

    Why:Ben realizes that he has been “Expelled,” and that educators and scientists are being ridiculed, denied tenure and even fired – for the “crime” of merely believing that there might be evidence of “design” in nature, and that perhaps life is not just the result of accidental, random chance.
    So what do you think, flop? successful?

    the movie sounds like a flop though the premise is an interesting idea, though not an uncommon one as far as thinking goes.

      Sounds like a flop also, probably for the main reason that he presents a can of worms no one really want to open.

          FYI full of bull**** propaganda and intellectual dishonesty.

          They duped a lot of people into appearing, and when they showed up barred them from the premier.

          Kind of hilarious they barred that guy out, but let Dawkins right through. Dawkins also grilled the producer in the QA for lying to him about what kind of film it was.

          Look up Dawkins take on it, if you want.

          FYI Stein has good ideas sometimes, but is usually a right-wing ****.

            Hmm, I didnt know about all that, thanks for the info Garr.

            It probably would be interesting if it wasnt fixed, but now I think Ill wait for it to come out on DVD to watch it, even if I do it then.

                  I read the synopsis and it sounds pretty retarded. To say ID isn't being considered by scientists is just plain wrong. Y'see, they looked at it, looked at the proof (or moreso utter LACK of) and said "wow...you pretty much have nothing to back up your claims. Here's our evidence." *flump* The response is "waaaaah! You're just not open to NEW ideas!

                  The scientific community THRIVES on new ideas, but only when they're backed by hard evidence, and there's TONS of evidence out there for evolution! Besides, there's LOTS of Scientists who are Christian and other religions, they're not mutually exclusive!!

                      Bah, I used to. They're funny, and they make a few good points, but they don't tell the whole story either. I once ran into a documentary that covered an experiment that was also shown in an episode of Pen and Teller's Bull----. They completely misrepresented the experiment, they made it look completely invalid, not to mention retarded, because they decided not to show the most important parts.

                      I haven't watched it since.
