Need Sprite Assistance (No, I don't need one made)

What I'm trying to do is make a sprite of the ferret monster in RPGM1. I did the front animation first, thought it was okay, moved on to the side animation. That's where I hit trouble. The side animation looks like a different creature to me, yet it's actually closer to how I want it to look. I've been fiddling with various front images, trying to find ways to get it looking more like the image in the center, with no luck. Any ideas? (If need be, you can copy it and paste it into MS Paint or something so you can zoom in and get a closer look.)

make it more upright (less hunched) and make the tail more thin. as it is, it looks like a dinosaur so try to match the picture with how the front looks. the ferret should only have a very slight forward lean, and its tail should be considerably thiner considering the proportions, and it could use some touch ups elsewhere.

if you need a hand with fixing the sprite ill be happy to help, though you may want to try the backside first and see if that helps you any.

I know it's a side shot but I would think that it would have a bulging white belly. Like in the larger picture.

      Might help I dunno.

Alright, refresh the image, I put the changed side-view next to the old one. As far as the belly goes, my primary worry is that the white belly will blend with the white claws. Do you think it does? Maybe I should reach the arms out a bit more.

Now, as far as fixing the front view goes, since that's what I was asking about to begin with, what sort of touch-ups were you referring to?

(BTW, I haven't bothered fixing the barely visible tail in the frontal shots, until I figure out what needs done and am done shifting pixels around.)

The improved (side) one looks better, maybe reach out the arms. It looks good now though.

Oh, just a silly question. Why is he walking upright?

the key is to have darker definition between the two, like a shade of light gray. spreading the hands would look silly so dont do that.

however, since you want the sprite to be like the middle rather then the reverse, you will need to make the top portions bigger and the lower portions smaller to reflect the depth of the forward lean.

Unfortunately that's something I fail to accopmlish without instead making it look like he's got a wide top. But showing him leaning foward in the front view isn't the problem anyway. I just want to make him look more streamlined like the side image instead of the large bulky rat thing I've had.

Because RPGM1 sprites can't be wide enough unless I make him real small. (One reason why RPGM1 has ponies instead of horses. :P ) Besides, the monster is standing upright, so it's not like there's any real evidence that the creature primarily walks on all fours.
