Whatever it gets, it's still smarter than rpgm2, since it's far more marketable to the general ps2 owners out there.
Graphics, simplicity, and speed of creation are the most important things when making a game maker intended for the gaming console market.
im gonna have to defend rpgm2 and say, no. i think rpgm 2 is exactly what i was looking for at least. its much more intelligent of a game maker than rpgm3. i think the graphics are charming and the flexibility for creative options far outweigh simplicity or speed of creation, in my opinion.
Re: I recently submitted RPG Maker 3 for an IQ test!
The funny thing is, I think 3's not even worth getting if you have 2, which I have.
From a selling perspective was all I was talking about, after all-
..if they were designing these for themselves to use, RPGM3'd probably have been a little better then 2 in all aspects, instead of just graphics at the expense of nearly everything else.
Clearly, it's just the profit they're after, so 3's better for it's more common-PS2 owner friendliness.
Re: I recently submitted RPG Maker 3 for an IQ test!
Well, I'm gonna sit this one out. I don't believe the Photoshop-alterated picture, and I have no idea how RPG Maker 2 works. Seriously though, why are we arguing which is better? It's kinda pointless. Let's argue about two games for DIFFERENT series!
Re: I recently submitted RPG Maker 3 for an IQ test!
Why so much hate for RPG Maker 3? I really like it, it is much easier than RPG Maker 2 which was completely too hard for me in every way. I am not a super genius but I still think I can make a fun game and have fun doing so. I just registered for this forum, topics like this make me afraid to post.
Please PM or E-mail me any great tips for RPG Maker 3 you may have, or anything helpful. Thanks!
Re: I recently submitted RPG Maker 3 for an IQ test!
Welcome to the pav. You don't need to be afraid to post. People have their own opinions of the different makers. There's plenty of people that prefer 3 over the others. The opisite is true as well though. Try not to be put off by one post. I hope you enjoy it here, and have fun with RPGM 3.

The people who hate on RPG Maker 3 tend to be the ones who couldn't do anything decent with 1 or 2 anyway.
Don't feel afraid to post--just jump in and have fun!
Re: I recently submitted RPG Maker 3 for an IQ test!
Thank you, I am having a really hard time finding anybody else who has this game or plays it, I thought this place would be great but now it just seems like the only game I have, everybody hates. Am I the ONLY MAN ALIVE WHO LIKES THIS GAME!? haha, thanks again.
Edit: I didn't see all the posts between my first and this one, I thought only one person had replied for some reason when I wrote the above, but I am glad others like this game out here too. TY.
Re: I recently submitted RPG Maker 3 for an IQ test!
I'm starting to understand RPG Maker 2, but I still prefer RPG Maker 3.
For some reason, I find typing with the controler on RPG Maker 2 feels more relaxing than on RPG Maker 3.
Re: I recently submitted RPG Maker 3 for an IQ test!
Wait, your using a controller? I use a cheap USB keyboard for RM3. It was only $15 or $20, or something like that.
Anyway, I found RM2 alittle overwhelming and prefer RM3. Thats not to say that I couldn't learn RM2, I just don't want to take the time. Also, my PS2 can't play the blue discs anymore
Re: I recently submitted RPG Maker 3 for an IQ test!
Yeah, like GameShark, Crash: Wrath Of Cortex, those discs, right StormWeaver? Anyways, I came here to side with RPG Maker 3. I find it much simpler and easier making a game in RPG Maker 3, as I hear it sounds really difficult to to the same in RPG Maker 2, but allows much more freedom.
Game: Glistade
Completion: 45.8%
Last Worked: 4/13/08 (yes, today)
Last Boss Created: Elder Trent (character model), 24000 HP
Last Place Created: Ninja Palace
I can't wait until I finish my game. I'm at a part where you go to a former party member's funeral. I also made the characters become refugees and allow the player to change their names. I made a sanctuary for a church (not the healing one), I put a coffin in it, and I also put a Point without the item on top for the pedestal effect like at normal funerals. I also made it so you fight a boss (Lone Wolf, 22000 HP) in the middle.
Who here wants to share how far they are in their game-makking journey?
