Have you heard of Braid? (Out now for 360)

You know, that amazing looking 2D game that's been in development for the last few years. I just now found out about this and I can't wait to play it. The game is set in a somewhat traditional 2D world with rules and physics similar to Mario but the main character has control over time.

The art is gorgeous, some of the best looking 2D visuals I have seen.

Oh, the game is scheduled for a spring release on XBL Arcade and PC.

I've seen small blurbs about this game over the past half year or so, and they've all been positive. I'll DL the trial when it's released, but cannot be sure if I'll pay for the full version, as I rarely play my 360 anymore.

I don't own a PC...and even if I did, I probably wouldn't want to play games on it.

I should rephrase...I don't own a computer. Maybe when I partition my PS3's hard drive, and install Linux on it, I can legitimately say that I will then own my first computer. Or does that not count?

So this came out today on the 360's marketplace. Not sure of the price, but has anyone downloaded it or the demo yet? Once I get off work in the morning I'll purchase it.

1Up seemed to really enjoy it.

I just got done playing the demo, and I'm probably not gonna DL the full version. It IS easy on the eyes, but it totally confuses the **** out of me. I'm not gonna pay $15 for something I cannot even come close to being able to play correctly. That Donkey Kong-esque level, where forward motion on the thumbstick also moves everything else forward was where I gave up on the game. I WANT to like this game, but I don't have the patience to ponder every second of the game.

I like the GRAPHICS and ART style. Can't say the same for the CHARACTER designs, though.

                    Blech.

                        dummy dumb head

This game is beautiful and has great music and an interesting gameplay twist. I think it could be a similar experience to Portal, in that it seems short yet engaging and memorable and worth playing and makes you feel smart, unless you are a dummy dumb head like Perversion.

                          Meh.

Yeah, I DLed Echochrome and Elefunk for the PS3 under the auspices that I'm an intelligent human being, and that these kinds of games were MADE for people like me, and thus, I should support the developers and download them. For some reason, though, I do not seem to have the patience to think my way through stuff like that, and it seems as if Braid will be more of the same. I'm not really DUMB...sometimes with abstract concepts and spacial reasoning, I'm a bit deficient.

But anything to do with programming for RPGM3 (granted, it's SO SIMPLE A CHILD COULD DO IT!!!....not), I'm VERY capable of being able to think outside of the box, and do a lot of problem-solving and logic problems.

Oh, and I did horribly in physics in high school (well, I got Bs and Cs in honors physics, so that was horrible for me. I really just could not wrap my head around a lot of the concepts).

But back to Braid. I appreciate the game for being made, and give kudos to the developers for trying something different instead of more of the same Live Arcade tripe. But I still do not think I'm gonna pay $15 for the full version.

You're not dumb, the left side of your brain happens to be the dominant one. The left side controls rational thought and the right side is abstract. Echochrome is pretty much a kick in the balls for your left brain.
