This is what my workplace being protested looks like

So the paper I work at got protested last week. It was kind of funny.

Apparently we ****** some people off. So they blogged about it. Complete with YouTube video!

So if you have a few minutes and want to see some ******-off anti-war protesters, click here.

For the record: Of course we locked them out. They made a giant mess in front of the building. Why should we let them dump tons of papers in our lobby? I mean, hell, right after this the cops broke it up because someone was talking about lighting the papers on fire.

Plus, we don't print at the building. So I have no idea what the hell they're talking about.

    Bunch of drama babies.

They're ****** that no one did a news story on them?

I like that the guy dropped the "F bomb" about skateboarding.

Oh and they didn't have much rhythm with the whole "What does democracy look like?" thing.

...And the guy/girl who repeatedly adds more newspapers to the pile near the end is funny.

They got angry when the Campus editor told them flat-out that we weren't covering their protest because it's the same protest that has been done five years in a row now and you can only write that story so many ways.

Now, the editor shouldn't have told them that to their face. You need to leave open the possibility that something would happen. And we DID have an intern out there covering it (they're the one who wrote that short brief).

But the point is that the story is played out. Really, short of them making asses out of themselves in front of our building, nothing ground-breaking happened.

If you're REALLY bored, you can hear (!!) me express these very thoughts in our opinion podcast here (Warning: link directly to MP3). I should note that these podcasts are the epitome of dry, and I never listened to them even before I started participating on them.

I'm the only guy on it, if you're wondering which one I am.

Bunch of whining children giving a reaction without thinking the situation through and considering the other side of it.
