Yeah I don't get the ending to this one either. But it's ok.
It's by the guy who wrote and directed Donnie Darko. He got pelted with garbage when he showed it at Cannes, but he did a second edit and most people seem to think it halfway decent now. I loved it. It gave me the exact same feeling as Darko did, where I knew that what I watched was brilliant but I wasn't quite sure what it was that I watched.
It's a bit unique in that the movie opens up with the "fourth" act. The first three are presented in a series of graphic novels. I haven't read them but I found a synopsis of them online and the really help explain what's going on in the movie. I don't know if I think it would be better to read them before watching the film or after. The movie is pretty confusing but I don't think it matters that much. If you've seen Donnie Darko you probably know what to expect.
Maybe I'm more forgiving of it because it stars Dwayne Johnson, ie The Rock, but it's also got cameo's out the ass. From Justin Timberlake to John Larroquette to Bai Ling to Kevin Smith. Even John Lovitz shows up. I think it's a real shame it's pretty much considered a flop by everyone because of it's disastrous showing at Cannes.
Oh and Mora, you should probably just skip over this topic. Sorry big guy.
