It's great that its back. I wonder if there will be a third movie? I know full well this movie won't end the series given what I've heard about the story, and we have yet to see that big invasion hinted at for the whole series...

I just can't wait to find out what happened to everyone after the series finale.

The new movie will make the six or so years that's passed since the finale part of the plot, and supposedly it will show you how the characters have progressed since then.

It's a great show. At times.

But I'm curious, not exactly head-over-heels excited about the new movie.

I stopped watching after the first movie. I'm not sure why they are making the second one 10 years later, but I no longer care.

its been too long since the x files ended, i dont even think it plays reruns on tv often anymore either.

Sci-Fi Channel plays them every night at 2am or so.

With my local cable service, reruns are played a TON. Not on Fox though. SCIFI channel, and a couple of others play it constantly, and when they do, they usually play anywhere from 2 to 3 episodes at a time. Especially during weekends.

It doesn't matter though, the season box sets only cost $40 now. I have most of them, only missing two seasons and I'll have them all.

I rather see them do a movie that doesn't have anything to do with the main "alien / government" plotline.
