Yay! Purple!

I should be getting my taxes back soon. I'm getting back much more than I was anticipating. So, I thought to myself...Self, what should I do with all this money?

You know what myself said? Let's make the outside of my house purple! So, this Sunday I have someone coming over to give me an estimate. I can't wait.

Although this is NOT what my house looks like, here is a picture of the style that I want. A darker purple with white trim:

What do you think? Would you mind if your neighbor's house had that color scheme? Maybe I should consult with my neighbors before doing so as well?

On a serious note, the house looks nice, but I have one primary concern:

Your neighbors. If they aren't the type of people who report "irregularities" in their neighborhood, then by all means, good luck to you.

Additionally, I can barely see the purple text you sprouted in your post. Can you lighten it a lil' bit?

That looks nice. It's not some garish shade of purple or anything. Looks better than a lot of the more common color schemes. Like bright green or blue-green houses. Those are ugly.

Though I'm more inclined to say that, since I like various shades of dark blue/red, but it still looks cool. I don't see why people should care about whether or not your house looks a certain color. It's not hurting them at all!

Sorry about the purple text if it's hard to read. I've always used the lighter colored pavilion scheme. I forgot that the one that most people use is much darker...

And not to worry, Gloom. I've been into purple since 4th grade, so it's perfectly normal for me.

I don't see why people should care about whether or not your house looks a certain color. It's not hurting them at all!

If somebody's house looks particularly bad it actually lowers the property value of the other houses in the neighborhood. And having one of those annoying "we must approve your personal decor" co-op boards makes a community more desirable to rich suboobanites. It's like the Happy Room Academy without the gifts.

Id say if its your house **** what people think, you bought it, you pay taxes on it, you should be able to paint it any color you want.

**** other peoples property values, if they dont like it tell them to leave. Simple as that.

I like the color scheme by the way.
