Try going to rpgmaker.agetec.com
There is a trailer available there that might begin to help." I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me. " - Jesus

Hmmm. For some reason it wont let me watch it. oh well, I'm still gonna buy it anyway, it looks like alot of fun despite the limitations... I'm new to rpg maker period, so if you dont mind me asking, how long does it take to make a 20-25 hour game? i dont expect it to go fast at all, but cosidering i'm gonna have to learn the software, and then make the game, about how long?I am the bad one, distant and cruel one-Rob Zombie

Re: rpg maker 3 videos
It really depends on what you're trying to do. I have an 8-10 hour game that I've been working on since 2005.
That's just because I'm really taking my time with it though.
Perversion pulled off a 20-hour game in what? six months or so. I can't remember exactly.
Just try creating a tiny sample game first to get your feet wet. You'll enjoy it." I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me. " - Jesus

Re: rpg maker 3 videos
As for what Page said above, I spent about a month piddling around with the software, creating a bit of a "first game," then took what I learned and expanded on that many times over in the creation of my first REAL game, which I estimate took between 200-225 hours to program and playtest. It's give or take about a 20 hour game. The majority of creation time was spent doing fairly complex (by RPGM3's standards) programming.
I would HIGHLY advise not making a 20-25 hour game as your first one unless you are EXTREMELY confident with the software, and are willing to try to do something really different than what's out there now. I think RPGM3 has been out long enough now where a lot of people will not be willing to invest 20 hours of their life into an RPGM3 game, unless you have a wonderful story to tell, or are doing something really different with the mechanics of the software (which is extremely hard to do).
My advice to you is to make a 7-10 hour game for your first one (even shorter might actually be better), and use random battles on the lowest setting, just to get it out of your system.
Then, you can make your REAL game, sans random battles.
Just my two cents.

OK. If you see i already posted a game idea just to see(game idea Y/N)... but I guess I should do what you suggested and start small. And hopefully I'll be confident with the software soon enough.
