Stargate: The Ark of Truth Released!

Stargate: The Ark of Truth has been released! In the U.S. anyway, I think Europe has to wait until April. I don't know about Canada, any of our Canadian friends know?

For those not knowledgable, Ark of Truth is a direct to dvd movie that wraps up the Ori storyline that began in Season 9, and continued in the final Season, which was the tenth. Some fans, actually a lot of fans, hate the Ori storyline. I don't mind it so much. I prefer the Goa'uld and Wraith (especially Apophis and Michael) over the Ori.

I just might go out and get it now, if its no more than $20 atleast...

    Anyone else excited about this?

Re: Stargate: The Ark of Truth Released!

That's pretty cool, but wasn't there a DVD released after the series finale but before this one? I mean, did I miss anything?

I'm so behind. I totally missed the end of the series.

    Please answer me this:
    *** SPOILERS ***
How is Amanda Tapping's character (Carter) in this movie when she took over the lead spot in Atlantis? Didn't she leave SG1? What about Jack Oneal? I know he left but does he come back?
    *** END SPOILERS ***

I loved it when Richard Dean Anderson was on it.

After he left and Teal'k grew hair I lost intrest.

Ark of Truth takes place between S10 of SG-1 and S4 of Atlantis, no conflict.

You may be thinking of Continuum, which will be release in the summer, I think. Ark of Truth was going to be released months ago, but was delayed.

I understand where your coming from Red Dragon, but I didn't have a problem with Teal'c's hair until the episode 'Midway' of Atlantis.

        Its... horrible...

Have no fear, O'Neill returns in Stargate: Continuum.

I did watch it for awhile, but I lost interest. I became bored with the show. I will give it this however, it has some of the greatest battle sequences of any tv show. I love the ships, the special effects, and the overall concept of the show. Execution of said awesome features left me wanting, unfortunately.

I love Battlestar, but I still like Stargate (except Atlantis). I might have lost interest when RDA left but they replaced him with Ben Browder. And well... I liked Farscape. Yep, that's why.

They replaced half the cast initially with Farscape though. Which I couldn't stand because I already associated them with the other show.

Thanks for clearing all that up.

I would, but it's been so long I'm lost and I have no idea what's going on. Isn't that ending soon?

I liked Farscape too. Why isn't it being syndicated somewhere? I want to watch it still and I don't have enough money for the DVD's.

That was hard for me too, but wasn't it only two people that were from Farscape?

You know what? You guys keep on watching Stargate. We need to keep BSG's fans up to certain standards, after all. |:3

Yeah but two people is half the main cast of Stargate.

Same with Stargate, we like REAL sci fi fans watching Stargate, not wannabee's that know nothing about the original BSG series, that is better than the new one.

Ben Browder did not replace RDA, he is a different actor playing a different character, with a completely different personality.

Vala doesn't even count as a "replacement" because no one left the show and her character was introduced in Season 7 or 8, when RDA was still around. She was only made a regular because the fans loved her and it added a lot of chemistry to the show.

So, I bought it and watched it. I have to say I liked it. There was one part that involved *** SPOILERS ***
a replicator taking over a human
                            *** END SPOILERS ***
that didn't seem quite right, because there is no precedent for it in the show, but other then that it was a great movie. You get alittle backstory about the Ori-Alterran conflict and you get closure for the entire Ori saga.

It even leaves the end open for more movies, or even a series, about the remains of the Ori galaxy.

It was syndicated locally the last two TV seasons, but it got dumped. Probably didn't help that the morons aired seasons 1 and 2 the first year and then seasons 4 and 2 the next year. I had no idea what the heck was going on in that show.

Anyway, I'm interested in this DVD, but only once May or June hits. I'm watching the syndicated reruns on TV, and they're still finishing up season 10 now. The reruns over the weekend were advertising the hell out of this thing.
