why not? didn't they sell well here? that is depressing to here. i would love to see a new one in the works... guess they are changeing over to pc only?
they usually come out with one every 3 years from the pattern I've seen, so they probably wont talk of one until the very latest, next year. BUT, rm3 was released in 06 so... if this pattern held true, it would be released in 09. but considering they havent talked about it yet, I would expect to hear word of it by the end of 09 if another were being made, so at least we still have xp rpg maker 3, and vx to work with to hold us over until the anticipated "rpg maker 4" is released.
oh yeah it was in 05, my bad. why did I feel like I got it in 06 when I got it back in 05. I should have known I preordered it!
Well all we can do is hope that they (agetec/enterbrain)come to their senses they make another one sometime. did you preorder your rpg maker 3? and how did you feel when 2 came out?
I didnt preorder RPG Maker 3. Agetec sent me copies of 2 and 3 about a week before each title's release. 2 coming out was really exciting (especially since the pavilion members helped design it), but sadly I've never finished any games with the software.

I didn't know the Pavilion members helped to design it. That makes me even more excited. What did/could they help with?
Agetec asked us back in 2001 (when enterbrain and agetec were just starting the design process for it) to list features we wanted in it. pretty much every active pavilion member at the time made suggestions. a list was compiled from those suggestions and used in the development.
I asked for environmental sound effects and voice samples (screams, basic stuff like that), and both made it in.
We were also kept up to date with the development. we were given screenshots at all stages of the production of the software just to show us how things were going.
At that time, IGN started stealing our exclusive screenshots and info, along with a FAQ that Jeroak Nelave (Lion Franco at the time) wrote about the title.
to this day, the IGN offices are banned from accessing the pavilion.
That's interesting. I didn't know the pav had a cool history. It's also really cool that Agetec acknoledged it's audience and took our members suggestions.
Only three pages of suggestions are archived, but you'll see that some people were asking for some terribly unrealistic things, like a CGI editor. (and one person was pretending to have connections with agetec and had apparently already seen the game, which was total BS)
Somewhere around halfway through that thread, things started to shift and people who got frustrated with RPG Maker 2's complicated engine started posting like mad, demanding an easier to use piece of software, and I guess enterbrain thought that meant ease of use was the most important thing for 3.
Since we had input on the last two, I'm sure that when a new RPGM is in development, agetec will let us know fairly early in the development process, to get our suggestions again.
