I would like to make a Legend of Zelda type game. Is there anyway of making big rooms with paths to get to the top that does not include putting in floors or staircases? Is there ways of making floating platforms that move certain ways? Is there a way to make blocks that you can move in certain ways to activate switches in a puzzle-like scenario? Do you have any ideas I can use to incorporate into this game to make the dungeons cool, long but not too long, and puzzling?

Yes, but good luck mastering RPG Maker 2.

I meant can someone give me step by step instructions so I can do these things?

Sure, but I'm too lazy. Someone else will do it though, I think.

Plus I haven't mastered RPGM2 myself. :p

I think your being a little too ambitious there bud.

I suggest you start with something simpler than a Zelda type game, but if your really are up for, I can look around a bit for Nash's guide.

I've made a game on RPG Maker 3. So I'm ready to tackle RPG Maker 2. Any help would be appreciated.

If you're new to RPG Maker 2, I cannot imagine you being able to properly utilize the zelda battle system in your first game.

You really need to master scripting before you even attempt to make anything other then a Dragon Quest style RPG (which is what RPG Maker 2 was designed for).

Many of the things you want to do require going outside the comfort zone of the game design, which means trying to get the game engine to do things it was never designed to do.

Besides learning the RPG Maker 2 scripting system, you might want to play a few of the Zelda-like games that were made on RPG Maker 2. Nash's games are the best since he's the master of designing this type of game.

As a word of caution, it is very annoying when people say "Please do all my scripting for me so I don't have to learn anything to make a complex game on RPG Maker 2." I much prefer to help someone who asks "I tried to do this but this happened. How can I fix this?" type questions.

Prove that you're serious about creating your own game first, then come back with specific questions about what you're having problems with.

Fair enough. I wanted to make a Zelda-like game, not an actual Zelda game. Give me a few months to learn the basics.
