Nite Owl and Ozymandias need to be less shiny.

I like Rorschach and Comedian's costume.

Nite Owl gives too much of a batman look, though. o_O

              Nothing. I love Batman.

What I meant by my comment was that Owl looks like some kind of copycat.

Course I never read any of the watchmen comics, so I dunno what the whole story is all about.

Its hard to mess up Rorschachs costume, but he looks spot on. Is Alan Moore involved in it at all? I remember him being pretty ****** about V for Vendetta, saying he wants to be more involved in any more movies.

Why? Cause V for Vendetta was actually better than the comic?

If the movie was "better" I'm glad I never read the comic.

                      Re: new watchmen pics!

Alan Moore - "[The movie] has been "turned into a Bush-era parable by people too timid to set a political satire in their own country… It's a thwarted and frustrated and largely impotent American liberal fantasy of someone with American liberal values standing up against a state run by neoconservatives—which is not what the comic V for Vendetta was about. It was about fascism, it was about anarchy, it was about England."

He later adds that if the Wachowskis had wanted to protest what was going on in the United States, then they should have used a political narrative that spoke directly at the USA's issues, similar to what Moore had done before with Britain. The film changes the original message by arguably having changed "V" into a freedom fighter instead of an anarchist. An interview with producer Joel Silver suggests that the change may not have been conscious; he identifies the V of the graphic novel as a clear-cut "superhero… a masked avenger who pretty much saves the world," a simplification that goes against Moore's own statements about V's role in the story.[11]

Co-author and illustrator David Lloyd, by contrast, embraced the adaptation.[12] In an interview with Newsrama.com, he states: "It's a terrific film. The most extraordinary thing about it for me was seeing scenes that I'd worked on and crafted for maximum effect in the book translated to film with the same degree of care and effect. The "transformation" scene between Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving is just great. If you happen to be one of those people who admires the original so much that changes to it will automatically turn you off, then you may dislike the film—but if you enjoyed the original and can accept an adaptation that is different to its source material but equally as powerful, then you'll be as impressed as I was with it.

I don't get how people don't like that movie. You're both suspended...FOR HAVING HUGE GUTS.

Though he shouldn't have many qaulms with this movie, Zach Synder proved himself most capable of just taking comics and making a movie look like its panels on his sound stage.

This movie looks nothing like what Watchmen should feel like.

                            Re: new watchmen pics!

It's tough to mess up Rorschach so he looks okay but I dunno about the others. Especially Nite Owl. But he's so ****ing goofy anyway I guess it'd be easy to forgive any changes involving his look.

Still, the one thing that gives me hope is the David Hayter script. It's supposed to be very, very, very, very, very close to the book. Though I believe his draft set it in the present (post-9/11). Zach Snyder chose to reset it to 1985.

                            I dunno.

                            We'll see.

And Alan Moore's a whiner. V4V was pretty solid and the original book dragged in locations. Would I have liked to see some actual violence and blood instead of *****ing out of it like the movie does? Yes. Would I have liked a dozen more pop culture references, especially V's "Sympathy of the Devil" introduction to the Voice of London? Yes. Would I have liked less of the word "bollocks?" Absolutely. But it was still a decent flick and the best adaptation of his work by. FAR.

Not that I blame Alan. DC Comics ****ed him over and Hollywood ****ed up League of Extraordinary Gentlemen hardcore.

From Hell was compleeeeetely different, too. But I am curious to revisit it if only because I found my copy of the book again. God.

                            That book.

I'm pretty sure the david hayter script isn't being used.
