    Guitar Performance

I'm taking a group guitar class for a college music credit and need your advice as to what I should play for my final solo piece. Here's what I got in mind, I'd like to get your opinions or possibly suggest something else I haven't enen thought of. I don't want to do anything too complicated though since I'm not that good yet, and a lot of what I'd really like to do sounds too ambitious.

I was thinking on doing the X-Files theme song.

    Or this number from Xenogears.

Chrono Cross Ending Theme Song, spoilers I guess.

Depending on if I have to sing, I have to pick something in my vocal range. Possibly Maroon 5, or Jack Johnson. I might do a cover on a R&B song--I want to put my own spin on it. I really don't know, I've got too many ideas really. And I don't really feel like playing a videogame piece for my class, but I still plan on learning them.

So, yeah. Any advice? Like I said I want to do something unique and put my own spin on it. No way I'm doing something cliche like Stairway To Heaven or Sweet Child Of Mine. Maybe Plush from STP?

    ARGH.

So you finally start being cool by playing guitar and you're going to nerd it up by showing all your classmates how you can belt out a song from xenogears?

You know it. Maybe I'll bust out the MegaMan II guitar solo.

But really it wouldn't be that bad considering that my school consits of annoying anime fankids who play D&D all day everyday. I'm still not going to do it though.

well FF7 is pretty cliche, but the nightmare begins(vincent's theme) is still a really good track. I dunno if it's too easy for your class or what though.
