I Thought Cartooning Was Easy. >:L

Damn, I really did forget how to draw.

Instead of drawing realistic characters, I always went with the simple cartoon approach. I like to read manga but I really don't like to DRAW it.

Anyway, I can come up with great characters but sketching them out seems to be a problem. I guess I don't know enough about the eyes, mouths, and face shapes. Basically, I have the imagination to think of a character, but I DON'T have the imagination to DRAW IT.

This is where I need help in. I need to know more shapes of heads than just a round circle. Same goes with eyes and mouths.

Also, to further prove my sucktastic skills, I can't draw a perfect circle

But soon, my skill shall develop with practice...

I recently picked up a great book that deals with just the problems you're talking about. I found it at Barns & Nobel's, so it shouldn't be hard to find.

How To Draw and Paint Crazy Cartoon Characters by Vincent Woodcock.

He talks about head shapes, facical manipulation, and all the stuff you're saying you're having trouble with and lots of other great stuff too.

This isn't one of those typical "how to draw" books where it shows you the wireframe model and then the finished picture. This is more about understanding the fundamentals of cartooning and character creation. I recommend you check it out.
