Yeah, seriously, where's the option that says music can and does add a lot to a game's feel and overall memorability, but it isn't an end-all be-all to a game's significance?

Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but the music in SOtC was, IMO, one of the best features of the game. It perfectly set the mood for every battle and every challenge in between.
Also, Final Fantasy Tactics is one of my favorites musically.
Unless it's a shooter or sports game or something, music is very important to me for overall enjoyment.

If you can agree that FFXII's music is fantastic, too, then I'll buy this. If not, then maybe you should admit that musical taste is subjective.Originally posted by Kire View PostConsidering I could hum 2 of the tunes for you off the top of my head, I beg to differ. Plus, Sakaguchi said its some of the best music he's ever made and plans to use a lot of it in his concerts.

I wasn't too impressed when I heard the music for the Lost Odyssey commercial. The game looks pretty awesome though!Originally posted by Loki View PostLost Odyssey's music is the definition of forgettable.Without darkness, how would you know there is light?

If I'm reading his viewpoint correctly, I agree with Rick. Great music can really elevate a game, but bad music does not necessarily sink a game.
Of course, if the music is just one song looped endlessly for the entire game (e.g. Ghostbusters for the NES), then it can bring a game down.
BTW, you do realize the song in the Lost Odyssey commercial is "White Rabbit" by the Jefferson Airplane, one of the most famous songs of the '60s, and isn't actually in the game, right?Last edited by Patryn; 03-04-2008, 06:55 PM.

I thought it didn't sound too much like a RPG song...
