So, is it dead yet? 2008 doesn't look very promising as far as new releases go. That is to say, I haven't heard about any new games at all, my source being EGM. Is it over? The system still sells (I just bought another one a week ago), but are there going to be any new games? And if there are no new releases planned, why not?
If a system still sells, why do they stop making titles? I'm a bit ignorant on the subject, so I assume it all boils down to money, like everything else. But what I'm saying is, why not continue making games for it as well as PS3? Many people (like myself) probably won't be able to afford a new console system until an even newer system gets released. Why not keep it going? I'd still buy SNES games if they kept making them.
I'm probably talking out of my ass, but I think people would still buy PS2 titles for years, if kept alive. It's not like these software companies couldn't make a team that keeps making games. It's still a great system.

. I suppose my question is, why not?

which is really the only important thing. Is this to far fetched of an idea?
