    SOAD - Mezmerize

So whatcha guys think of the new System album?

I've listened to it about 5 times through. I like it. It's not their best, but what I like about SOAD is all their albums feel different. This one feels a bit more punkish, and they're one of the few bands that has the balls to make a political point these days. It felt a bit short, which is a lil disappointing, but I still like the flavor, and better than most of the stuff I hear on the airwaves these days.

WHY DO THEY ALWAYS SEND THE POOR?!?

Toxicity is my favorite cd of theirs but I also notice the different feel in each cd.I think Disturbed's cds are of a different feel also.

S.O.A.D. are so anti-war because they're Armenian and their ancestors were victims of genecide by the Turkish. Therefore they hate violence, especially wars. Alot of Christian things are thrown into some songs also.such as "Father into your hands, I command my spirit.........Why have you forsaken me?"etc,etc..... Showing that they are Christians who actually follow what the Bible says.Unlike many posers who say they're Christian and have crosses but they promote war(Thou shalt not kill) and are greedy.

I'm soooooooo far over the punk rock scene. I much perfer stuff like the Shins or Soundtrack of Our Lives.

And what band isn't being political these days?
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

I know you meant that they are one of the few mainstream bands to do so, but there are a lot of underground crust and anarcho bands out there that are way more radical then System of a Down will ever be. Ever heard of A//Political, Civil Disobedience, Aus Rotten, Mankind?, Crass, Conflict, etc?

A Perfect Circle's last CD should have just been called We Think Bush Is A ****ty President And He Smells And We should Get Rid Of Him Because He Smells and The Smell Is Probably Because Of The ****ty Job He Is Doing As Our President.

              @ IRC

SOAD's first was their best. All the rest have sucked. Thank you.

SOAD's debut CD is the only one that fully captures their sound.

Everything since has been watered down.

                WATERED DOWN.

I like most of their songs, but some are just a bit too emo for my tastes.

I LOVE the new album. I think it might be their best album ever. I definitely like it better than Toxicity and Steal this Album. Question! is my favorite song on it.

                      Emo!? Example, please...

On a sidenote, if you change the first letter of SOAD to an L, it becomes LOAD. Which is what I think their music has been, for the most part, since the first album.

If you change the last three letters of SOAD to HIT you get ****. Which I think every album, since their first one has been.

This is on my list, but money's tight right now, and there are a lot of bands that have new stuff coming out that I want. I have to imagine I'll like it a lot if their past performances and the new single are any indication. I love the guitarist's harmonies. Really smart music as far as construction goes. Much smarter than anything else that heavy.
Took me 15 minutes to remember how to change my signature, and this is all I came up with.

It's annoying how badly its becoming apparent that the guitarist wants to be the lead singer, though.

NO ****, man... I predict in the next few years he'll try to leave the band to strike up a solo career or head up his own band... and he's not even that good of a singer. Got kind of an annoying voice(though that never stopped Jane's Addiction )
