    memory woes (rpg maker 1)

i guess this is a frequent occurrence for most rpg designers but ive run out of memory before i could finish what i had planed. the question now is what should i sacrifice in order to free up enough to finish what i have planed. ive done the usual squeeze play for events to make sure nothing is lost. any ideas as to what types of things should be sacrificed or what priority i should consider? im going to have to budget better on card 3, this is twice now that ive botched my memory limits.

im pretty pleased with how things have gone so far, i think my game is going to be a sucess.

Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!

    sacrifice nothing.

use the infinite system card trick if it's applicable to your game.

there's a playable tutorial on the site.

yea i did that, but i my game is designed in 4 story arcs that the player can choose from. story itself is fine and im ahead of the card memory for that but its the details thats the problem, the extra mini games, the description text on things and the other little touches (or big touches) that is crunching me for space.

what i trim now will decide on the overall polish of the game, not effect the story or much else. maybe an extra few lines of text in a mini game will not appear or perhaps an unnecessary overly complex event sequence will be boiled down into something more generic. one thing this has taught me, and thats filler has no place in an rpg such as mine.
