View Full Version : Movies that You Abhor

Following the Horrible Movie's Thread, tell us about the movies you abhor-
aka - hate with a horrible passion and why. This isn't meant to be a Horrible Movies thread, but even good movies that you personally hate for some reason or the other. This can even mean hating classics like Godfather because you love horses.

I can't think of any at the moment, but have fun telling us about the movies you hate. (and any debates are welcome, just be nice. kay?)

Good movie but it feels so incomplete. Like making a sandwhich without bread.

High School Musical

I don't know why, I've never seen it, but for some reason everytime I see an ad for it I just feel like hating it.

Bee Movie...

While the animation was pretty good, the dialogue disappointed...and I can now affirm, with great certainty, that Jerry Seinfield is effing overrated as a human being.

That's because it was featured on television by at least 2 different networks in the last month.

I remember watching that movie when I was 13, and I hated it.

Now.....not so much

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within!
I wouldn't say I 'hate' this movie, it just severely flung me off a cliff of disappointedness... I remember when I first was sitting down in a theater waiting for it to come on. I was thinking bout all my favorite FF's(7 and up basically) and all the cool stuff in them, but there was NOTHING in the movie that showed it was a Final Fantasy! ( cept Cid, that is XD )

Silent Hill. What happens when you put together great looking monsters with grade A special effects? I thought the answer would be "a kick ass movie." God, was I ever wrong. Terrible acting, bad writing, unscarey. They also had to include a monster that shouldn't be there in the first place. Well, technically anyone with a dark past that has seen the painting of Pyramid Head could possibly be haunted by him... However, Rose knows little to nothing about the town, has no troubling past (that we know of), and never even seen anything about PH. So in conclusion, bull****!

Monsters Inc.: What a letdown after the joy that was Shrek! Too cliche, way too saccharine, and the plot was underdeveloped. And the only funny parts (besides the great "outtakes" at the end) were all spoiled in the commercials.

True Lies: Maybe this one isn't fair to put up, because I saw it when I was like ten years old. But I remember it being an absolute mess of violence and cliche, even at that age, and a reminder of why I don't like Action movies.

The Truman Show: Definitely not the worst movie I've ever seen, but probably the most boring. Big disappointment from Jim Carrey.

Pearl Harbor: Too easy, you say? Yeah, you're probably right.

Meet the Fockers: I actually know a lot of people who liked this one. I personally found it to be an awkward jumble of unlikable characters, misplaced jokes, and a completely insipid plot. There were some genuinely funny scenes, but they could have been watched on a highlight reel without losing any of the effect.

The Second Half of Mr. and Mrs. Smith: As if the telegraphed "twist" and absurd romance halfway through the movie weren't bad enough, everything past that point involves the titular characters disloyally shooting up a bunch of so-called assassins that can't hit a man-sized target from 10 feet. Why not rename this movie "The Stormtrooper School of Marksmanship"?

I'll repeat my previous statement in the other topic and include Rob Zombie's version of Halloween. Basically, not only is it a bad movie, it's something that's meant to entertain me, but only ends up ******* me off, and not because I thought the original is superior(it is).

Are you meaning the one with Johnny Depp, or the original and you confused the names?

I thought the Depp version was okay, much more true to the book, but I grew up with the Gene Wilder one, and he's the only real saving grace of that movie looking back at it. I mean, bad-acid-trip boat ride? Seriously, in a kid's movie? And the fact that it's a musical gives it serious negative points from me.

Yeah. Juno didn't strike me as terribly formulaic. It's not the best movie of its kind out there, but it's certainly not the worst, either. It was kinda funny and cute in a melodramatic way. And I like most of the soundtrack. =3

I'm not fond at all of Troma's terrible messes, and I've seen so many of them because my brother is a fan. I guess I hate Troma and its movies. Well, almost all of them. Buttcrack and Decampitated were kinda fun and funny.

I'm also an avid hater of Van Helsing. Because so many people apparently liked it, and it's such a ****heap of a movie.

I don't think I've seen Forrest Gump all the way through. I've seen parts, maybe even most, but not in one sitting. Don't really care to.

The following are so bad they require no explanation and though some people may get some perverse enjoyment out of them anyone who thinks they're actually good must be insane.

I'll think of more.

Its not so much talking as it is talking about stuff that I couldn't care less about and find boring. I also have ADD so that may be a big factor.
