Some of those are just plain silly. Though I miss the days of playing two player. Put Luigi in a damn adventure. Luigi's Mansion was neat, but come on.

I only agree with #5. Mario is a whore that the big pimp Nintendo stuff in any game they know won't sell well just because the world loves icons. Had they actually taken the time to create an original cast for their half-baked sports franchises, I can guarantee it wouldn't sell half as well but shove Mario and the gang in there and suddenly you get 1 MILLION PREORDERS regardless of how generic or lame it is. Everyone *****es about Halo but atleast Microsoft doesn't make HALO HOOPZ or HALO KART RACING. You never hear about FINAL FANTASY TYPING or KINGDOM HEARTS GOLF and all for good reason.

Nintendo is like the videogame form of mainstream comic book publishers. Yeah, we know Wolverine is cool, Marvel, but that doesn't mean you should put every other X-Men in the backseat while Sniktbub spits out generic one liners and shaves once a week.

EDIT: I just forgot that Square shoved in half the FF7 cast in an otherwise lame fighting game and they're making a new fighting game on the PSP that stars Final Fantasy characters. I retract the last sentence in the first paragraph!

Me too! The closest thing to a Mario Kart you will ever get on a playstation and a hella load of fun. I wish that I still had this game.

I think a big reason Mario is so popular is because he is the first videogame a lot of people played (Super Mario Bros. for NES) I know it was my first vgame..

I've only played Mario Kart and a bit of the golf game, but I'd say that people buy them because their fun to play not because it's got Mario on it. Sure the Cynic will look at all the other Blah Blah Kart games out there and say it's just more of the same, but remember that it was Mario Kart that started all the others. Now the Mario Party games on the other hand is another story.

In my opinion the biggest knock against Mario is a ****ty camera. All I want is a button that fixes the camera behind me so I can run straight. Is that too hard to do?
