I've been writing comedy for about 5 years now and if there's one thing I've learned it's the importance of setting a standard for readers before they get into it.

By establishing that my comedy is "for weirdos" it sets a precedent that not everyone may understand it - but those who do will be on board.

That's the intention, at least.

What scares me the most about that is I've known people like that. And they had the make-up almost exactly like that as well. Poor Jolene, the world will never understand her.

Man that was timed perfectly with me encountering some freaky 60 year old over-makeup'd lady (who's face basically looked like that but 60) that lives down stairs and then coming upstairs to smoke a bowl.
