If I could make a comedy movie, it would be a fantasy setting (thnk LOTR) and cast the likes of:

1) Jim Carry
2) Larry the cable guy
3) Will Farrel
4) Jack black, and
5) Will Smith, as the villain.

The movie would be exactly 2 1/2 hours long, and be rated PG-13.
Also, I think I would have Ice Cube somewhere in the movie, or maybe Tim Allen. What do you guys think?

Ok...:run

What exactly is the point of this? You need to at least add one super hot chick. Tis a must.

It sounds like 2 1/2 hours of sheer hell.

BTW, they did this sort of thing back in the 70s. They made a three hour movie with all of the era's hottest comedic talent. And it was a fantastic failure.

How dare you stereotype a fantasy setting as LOTR.

Also, Larry the Cable Guy being in a movie is akin to dropping a big fat ****ing atomic bomb. Just... no.

Recipe for a good movie:

Make a movie starring a fat white guy (possibly Jack Black) and some skinny black guy (possibly some def rapper), where they must recreate movies from the 80's (because as we all know, the 80's is soo in right now). Oh wait, that's a recipe for a bad movie.

Yup. I'm hilarious.

John Mora
02-20-2008, 01:09 PM
That would be bad unless it was directed by Michel Gondry. :3

5) Will Smith, as the villain.

Four not-so-funny white guys are the good guys, and a not-so-funny black guy as the villain?

:racist

But I agree with everyone so far...the movie you describe would be torturous, even moreso if Tim Allen is included. And I think the movie Mora is referring to is It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, but that possibly came out in the 60s.

All of these people suck majorly except Will Smith, and he sucks.

And its not racist if you have someone playing as a good guy that has "black" as a last name, it evens everything out. :p

to Lausen: Gwen Stefani! as the lead male's love interest!

to John: I didn't mean it that way. I didn't mean a direct parody of LOTR
(which is good), I meant a fantasy setting with elves and dwarves
and stuff in a cheesy generic world.

to Perversion: I am not racist. In fast, Will Smith is my favorite actor. I just
want to see Will Smith as a bad guy.

hollywood needs to look for more original ideas, or at least take an old idea and put a fresh spin on it. seems everything lately is stale. find what the market lacks that they would acually want to watch, then find stars that would exemplify the cast rather then be the only selling feature.

as for this topic, lets leave the grump to the experts.

That explains a lot.

3. Lots and lots of explosions
4. John Wayne

How is it derivative and trite? John Wayne was not even making movies anymore when Hollywood went the loud explosions, robots, lasers, etc, route, to appease the typical male's performance anxiety and desire for overcompensation. John Wayne's inclusion would indeed make a perfect film for those with small penises.

Who the hell thought Jim Carrey was funny in the first place?

Ace Ventura? Man on the Moon? The Truman Show? Bruce Almighty? You didn't find him funny in any of those movies?

I liked him in Eternal Sunshine.

And I still quote Ace Ventura time to time. :(
BTW, they did this sort of thing back in the 70s. They made a three hour movie with all of the era's hottest comedic talent. And it was a fantastic failure.
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World?

Ace Ventura: Hated it. For a good number of years, I flat-out refused to watch it. I never watched In Living Color, either. Man on the Moon: Never saw it, but I thought it was more of a showcase for his "acting" rather than his comedic abilities. The Truman Show: Ditto, and I liked it. Bruce Almighty: Never saw it.

Eternal Sunshine, though, I thought was great, but that was due more to Michel Gondry and Kate Winslet than Jim Carrey.

Yeah, you could say I'm not a huge Jim Carrey fan, although I've begun to like him more since he began to do more "serious, dramatic" fare.

As actors the only one that can do a decent job in that list is Will Smith. How could that possibly be a good movie? Tell me they would only be in the movie for 5 minutes or less.

........ Is there an emote for laughing so hard that milk shoots out your nose?

Anyway, I thought Man on the moon was a good movie, but I wouldn't really say it was funny, or his best work. The Truman Show is a gem. Does no one remember The Cable Guy? I think it was his funniest film ever. I didn't get into Eternal Sunshine. I think I fell asleep, but thatt's nothing to do with the movie.

You shouldn't be giving the OP crap when you are the reigning champ of stupid posts, next to simple man of course.
