It is also one of the very few shows produced entirely here in the USA. And My Life As A Teenage Robot is fun, too.

I like the look of Teenage Robot.

With Danny Phantom, it just seems like Hartman tried to take all of the comic book references he put in Fairly Odd Parents and tried to make a new show out of it. It's not very funny or cool.

I'd watch more Spongebob if it wasn't just the same four episodes over and over.

Nick has the rights to an unfathomable amount of shows. Why do they have to repeat the same things over and over?

Though I don't have digital cable up here in Butt Town anymore, so I don't really know what I'm talking about.

My Life As A Teenage Robot is really cute, I enjoy watching it.

Stuff like Danny Phantom and Kappa Mikey, however? Boooooring.

I rarely watch Spongebob, but sometimes I've channel surfed and watched out of curiosity and I have to admit that I laughed pretty hard a few times. I just don't find it interesting enough to tune in regularly, if that makes any sense. o_o

I hate Spongebob.
Samurai Jack ruled/rules.
Avatar is freakin' awesome.
Danny Phantom was(is?) pretty cool.
Family Guy is funny, but It can get old, same with American Dad.
Dexter is cool when your alittle kid, same with pretty much every other cartoon on CN and Nick.

I miss the old cartoons, like Scooby-Doo, Tom and Jerry, and all that jazz.

P.S. I hate those DirectTV commercials with tv and film icons. Its practically blasphemy for them to be lowered like that. Especially the Scooby-Doo one.

I really like Avatar, even if it is hard to keep up with the "all over the place" schedule they show the eposides.

The worst would be FairyGod Parents.

I am one of those people who don't like Ed, Ed, Eddy. I just hate it when the characters are all stupid or raving manaics.

The new Batman cartoon is pretty bad too. The design and story changes just ruin it for me.

That new Superman as a teenager cartoon set in the future, really is boring.

That is a few I could think of.

Xiaolin Showdown is not a ****ty cartoon.

You're kidding right? Please tell me you are.

Cruddy cartoons? Where do I start...

Yin Yang Yo
Johnny Test
Barnyard ... uh something. The one that's based off the movie.
Jimmy Neutron
Danny Phantom
Jake Long American Dragon (UGH)
Brandy and Mr. Whiskers
Emporer's New School
Lilo And Stitch (which is shockingly disappointing, since the movie is so good)
Pokemon (whack me with a stick instead, please)
W.I.T.C.H.
Legend of Dragon (This one sucks so bad it's a wonder they air it)
A.T.O.M.
Get Ed
Digimon season 2 and 4
Inside Jimmy's Head

Now I'll list some shows that are absolutely worth your time:

Oban Star Racers - I love this one's ending. So sad. And the voice acting is talented to say the least.
Courage the Cowardly Dog - So glad they brought this back to prime-time. Anyone who hates this show is a communist.
Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go! - This one seems terrible on the surface, but the story is surprisingly dark. Every episode is like an uphill battle, and they tend to lose more than they win. Plus the voice cast is nice, with Haruko from FLCL and Jet from Bebop.
Batman tAS - You have to watch this every day, while you still can. YOU HAVE TO.
Chowder - Freaking. Amazing.

GOD, Kappa Mikey sucks hard.

Ben10s not bad for a kids show. At about the same level as TMNT and all those other crappy shows we watched as kids. Little kid with the power to turn into big aliens to fight badguys. Thats 100% little boy "what dreams are made of" right there.

I really didnt think Id like Avatar. I was all, "Bah, another crappy kids show trying to look all anime to be hip with todays youth!", but I was wrong. Its REALLY good when you get into it. Season 1 finale man...........hits yah right there in the heart with sadness, and an awsome fight.

Storm Hawks is good too, if you get past the whole Scott McNeil plays half the damn voices on the show thing. Its a good show to watch when theres nothign else on, and you crave some action. Yay for canadian shows! Theres even an episode where theres these crazy x-treme rabbit people that live in perpetual winter climates, and they talk with deep newfie accents.

That... show... RULES! I can't believe they canceled that!

@Simple Man: You can take your bad attitude and keep it to yourself. If you don't like Avatar say so, but don't be an ass.

As for my opinion of Avatar, the story is good, the action is great, and the depth of the background elements is cool. The humor is better than what you would expect from a children's show, and the action is actually totally awesome.

Crunk, if you liked Season 1, wait till you see the Season 2 finale, and the first few episodes of Season 3.

[EDIT:] Just read the rest of the thread and decided to add some things.

The Batman is lame. Batman the Animated Series was awesome, as was its Superman counterpart, and Justice League (including Unlimited), and even Static Shock.

I only really like the original Scooby Doo, A Pup Named Scooby Doo was okay. I didn't like 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo, didn't like the New Adventures of Scooby Doo, and I don't like all the new movies they've come out with.

Anyone remember Johny Quest? That show was pretty cool, both of them. Pippy Longstocking and the red-head from the newer Johny Quest are likely at the root cause of my love of red-heads.

The way it sounds from the chat here, Cartoon Network's Boomerang channel must be the best-kept secret on TV. It's got Tom and Jerry, A Pup Named Scooby Doo, Flintstones, Looney Toons/Merry Melodies, and all that jazz. I think Johnny Quest is in there too (the redhead from Real Adventures of JQ was named Jesse by the way, and yeah, she was cool). It's not in a lot of cable packages, but with basic satelite packages starting to get really cheap...

I couldn't agree more on having a Classic Nick channel, by the way. I can't believe how many of my 18-24 year old friends have mentioned Doug, Hey Arnold, Pete & Pete, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Salute Your Shorts, Clarissa Explains It All, Ren & Stimpy, and the like, lately. I didn't know anybody remembered that stuff. I was never so much into those, I thought they were merely watchable (I did like Guts and Legends of the Hidden Temple, and you can't go wrong with Doug). I guess you could call it Nick's Golden Age. Now they're turning more into the same thing Disney Channel is becoming. Programming for prosti-tots.

By the way, I really don't appreciate the shots taken at Pokemon. The first 55 or so episodes (through Cinnabar Island) were generally very high quality, and actually took themselves halfway seriously... it got awful until the end of the Orange Islands arc (unfortunately this is probably when it was most popular), and it's been halfway-likable, innocuous fluff ever since.

Stormy
02-20-2008, 02:12 AM
I didn't really watch the Pokemon show, but having it run for 10 years and Ash never age, thats rediculus. I saw the first half dozen episodes, but I was never really hooked. I think I was too busy obsessing over DBZ at the time :lol

I liked the first two seasons of Digimon, but thought the departure from the show's origins ruined the whole thing. Season 3 was watchable, but when they made the humans into the Digimon in Season 4, that was the last straw.

Valkysas
02-20-2008, 02:23 AM
I loved digimon season 3. it's my absolute favorite. I also liked season 1 a whole lot.

I hated 2, 4, and 5.

Stormy
02-20-2008, 02:27 AM
Thats cool, I hated a couple of the new characters in Season 2, and I didn't like how they left that whole bit about the third world where the Digi Emperor got his evil costume totally in the dark. You know, that grey place with the big bad evil thing that we never learned what it was? That ticked me off. Other than that I thought it was an interesting addition to the whole 'Digi-verse.' Not so much the other two seasons, and I haven't seen any of five, but I'm going to take a wild guess and say I won't/wouldn't like it.

The_Real_Crunk

That's about the same with me. I loved the first Digimon, but like all things they seemed to get worst by each season. And boy did I hate how the second season or was it the third? I don't remember. It was where the vampire villian guy made another appearance stronger than before and they don't even fight him. Some stupid stuff happens then he dies... ****!

Oh, while we're at it, let me add in every Don Kunoji-centered episode of Bleach to the pile of Cartoons That Should Burn In Hell (TM). The rest of the show is decent enough, I guess.

EDIT:
Season 5 follows the agonizing monster-of-the-week formula.

I never saw enough consecutive episodes of Digimon to recall this, but yeah, that's one trap that cartoons that take themselves (even halfway) seriously really need to watch out to make sure they don't fall into. Because it's easy to fall into, and it just makes the episode completely pointless. It's like you shouldn't have bothered showing the episode; just cut to the next plot point instead.

I remember Sailor Moon falling into such languor for dozens of episodes at a stretch sometimes.

Stormy
02-20-2008, 03:04 AM
If you want to talk about Bleach, then you should mention that the English dub is garbage, and that it has a habit of dragging on and on for dozens of episodes of pointless drivel. I remember there being over 20 episodes where Ichigo was never even seen. Thats 6 months of the show where the main character never shows up.

****tiest cartoon I can remember is Baby Blues. Jesus ****ing Christ, tie my eyes shut with barbwire, please.

But since this thread turned into a favorite cartoon thing:

Everything in the DC Animated Universe, including Teen Titans
Everything Genndy Tartakovsky (from Dexter to Foster's)
Early Nick stuff (er... just Ren & Stimpy and Rocko for me)
Disney Afternoon (Gargoyles, Ducktales, Tail Spin)
90s X-Men (THIS ONES' FOR YOOOU, MORPH)
The Simpsons (when it was genius)
The Critic
Aqua Teen (sometimes)

Megas XLR was pretty boss. It took place in Jersey City!!

Admittedly Sailor Moon had me hooked as a kid, although to this day I have no idea why (maybe all those anime school girls jumping around in mini skirts had something to do with it?) Samurai Pizza Cats was lot's of fun. I like the art of all these shows, but I just don't get it. I used watch Gundam SD(??) a few years ago, and it was alright.

3 South on MTV was okay, too. That also got cancelled. Daria plain sucked.

Never understood the popularity of Daria. "Hey guys! Let's watch a show about some chick with no personality!!!" *yawn*

Daria really sucked, I have to agree with that.

Daria was great and your guy's assesment of King of the Hill is flawed at best.

Then again with all the love here for things like Danny Phantom and Doug it's no wonder you don't get sophisticated cartoons.

forget spongbob, it sucks. nick used to have awesome cartoons like Hey Arnold or Doug. Real Monster and Ren and Stimpy, WTF happened to these guys.

Doug was so ****ing boring all of the time. I just watched it while I was waiting for Ren & Stimpy.

In hindsight, I could appreciate it. Doug and his friends are weird creeps and some of his daydreams are hilarious - like when he's getting chased by a pot roast or something. But as a kid? I tolerated it.

I liked Hey Arnold's mellowness. It was urban without being in-your-face "street", however douchey that sounds. Even as a kid, I appreciated the use of kid voice actors. But, man, did it bug me that Arnold was always right. He was such a good guy, you could never sympathize with him. That's probably why later episodes focused more on his ugly friends.

I never watched Daria, but it seems to be popular among college students, so I am instantly wary.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to shave my beard.

I loved Doug (until Disney took it over and ruined it) and Hey, Arnold was probably the best cartoon on T.V. at the time IMO.

And I love King of the Hill. Family Guy was funny early on (back then it had a bit more plot and a moral to the story, even if the humor was still mostly random). And I haven't even HEARD of half the crap you guys are talking about.

And Valk, I agree with you: Digimon Season 3 rocked. I loved how much darker it was compared to the others (both in color style and in tone). Jerri losing Leomon was actually really sad and a bit frightening when she started going insane.

Yes, I still remember stuff like that.

I'm probably one of the few who didn't like Ren and Stimpy. I just found it stupid and vulgar... which, to its credit, is what they were going for.

Ren & Stimpy was a show about the depths of passion.

Passions that could only be expressed in the most grotesque ways.

I can't stand any child oriented cartoons, except Transformers.

Other than that South Park, Family Guy, and Futurama Are pretty much the only cartoons I can stand.

I find humor in you mentioning South Park, which is a show that has 4th graders as the main characters. I know it is for mature audiences, but that still makes me giggle.

I never said I didn't like King of the Hill, but Bobby is a metrosexual, and it is a constant thorn in his dad's side. Just like Stewy has a big gay crush on Brian, which is so very wrong, because Stewy is a baby and Brian is a dog.

I didn't dislike Daria, I just never got into it. I also found Ren and Stimpy to be alittle to vulgar for my tastes. Only about a third of the episodes of South Park that I have seen are funny. My favorite Transformers series was Beast Wars, I'm sure I'll get flack for that, even though I'm not sure why...
The one that came after Beast Wars, the name escapes me, I didn't like as much. Got alittle tree huggerish, didn't like that so much.

It was called Beast Machines, and I thought it sucked. Only lasted from 1999 to early 2001.

Yeah, it was kinda stupid. I didn't even get to see the end of it. I remember Optimus trying to force Megatron into a conversion into the beasty form, and someone interrupting him, or something.

Just like I never got to see the final episode of Big O.

If a lot of people like a show that doesnt mean we have terrible tastes, pehaps the person accusing us of having terrible taste is the one with the terrible taste :3

Yes. Magus, Mora, myself and quite a few other people here.
