But anyway, after a year of extremely hectic and difficult work in a managerial-type position at my work (I, along with about 10-15 others at my place of employment, had managerial responsibility, but were still hourly, and got paid only about $4-$6 more than state minimum wage), I took a step down to become a full time sales associate in electronics. Let me tell you....it's a LOT better. A lot less stress, better pay (if my first paycheck in the position is any indication....and we supposedly had a SLOW two weeks), less responsibility....basically, talking to customers all day and sharing my knowlege of HDTVs and digital cameras really does not even seem like work to me.

In my old position, I'd be so stressed out and exhausted after a day of work (during Xmas season, for about 2 months or so, my average day was about 11-12 hours long, and the day before Thanksgiving into Thanksgiving day, I worked a 16.5 hour day) that even playing video games or watching a movie seemed like a chore, let alone trying to summon up the creativity and motivation to work on anything related to RPGM.

But so far, sales seems to be completely a better fit for me, and will most likely allow me more motivation and creativity in order to work on one (or more) of my incomplete, unreleased (or maybe even brand-new) RPGM games. As soon as I make one last pass through the Pav in a bit here, I plan on turning on RPGM3 for the first time in God knows how long. Granted, it'll probably take me a bit to get back into the swing of things, and most likely, I'll get nothing accomplished tonight. It'll probably be just like the old days where I used to turn on RPGM, and then just sit for hours and think....for some reaon, having RPGM on the screen was like a muse or something.

I have a number of projects I need to finish up, and something new that I really cannot divulge details about right now. A while ago, I even dabbled with RPGM2 for a bit, seeing if an idea I had was feasible. It is, but I'd have to take some time to learn my way around the software before I began the idea in earnest. That, and the code I would need to input would literally be horrendous. I stopped making Series 2 in its original form due to the tedium of manually entering almost identical code 40 different times. If I do follow through on this idea for RPGM2, that 3-4 modes, 50 lines per, being manually entered for Series 2 on RPGM3 will seem to take the effort of throwing a grain of sand as compared to the effort of throwing Mount Rushmore that is the manual, extremely repetitive entry of code required for this RPGM2 idea.

I do not want to spread myself too thin (as if I've not already done that), but I might attempt to undertake 2-3 projects simultaneously. In this manner, if I develop "writer's block" as has happened with the first full game of Series 4, I can move on to some tedious coding for a few hours. Then I can go back to another in-production game, work on it for a while, etc. In this way, I will not get burned out by spending hour after hour, day after day, entering repetitive code, which would probably suck the creativity right out of me.

So I guess this is my official update thread for now....once I get back into the swing of things, I'll try to keep this thread updated to some extent...not that anyone even visits my studio anymore. :(

Thanks for showing an interest, for those of you who made it through this post. To paraphrase simple man, "I Won't Let You Down!!"
