This movie is kind of old. Never seen any topics though. Anyone seen the movie??? I thought it was really good, but I got confused at the end. Discuss.

I don't think you'll find much people agreeing that this was a "really good" movie.

Or anyone who was confused by it either.

The fight scene at the end was pretty cool, I liked the FPS part. One thing that ruined the movie though, was the fact that "The Serum" chose what you turned into, by how good of a person you are. Yeah now looking back on it the movie was ok. I have the un-rated version , I payed 10$ for it, I think I got my money out of it though.

It would've been worse if Uwe Boll directed it.

Who cares how it could have been worse? It could have been BETTER, and that's all anybody should think about for terrible movies.

Still doesn't change the fact that the movie was bad. :p

I liked the movie. BFG. BIG ****ING GUN.

Boring ****.

The whole movie is walking around the dark getting "scared" by hissing steam and cats running around corners. YEAH, remember THAT in DOOM? All those cats running around corners? I thought I'd ****ing **** my pants.

Then finally a FPS homage with ****ty CGI and Karl Urban shoots a mirror. Then it turns into poor man's Dragon Ball at the end. Because DOOM is known for its hand-to-hand fighting.

Did the movie even take place on Mars? Didn't the game take place on Mars?

SirTMagus

Both took place on Mars.

The movie shies away from the game's Hell plot, instead opting for some "serum" Res Evil rip-off crap.

The theater I was in cheered during most of the FPS portion.

Because something was finally ****ing happening.

It was freakin' DOOM. It wasnt suposed to have a deep and well written plot. Its supposed to be dudes with guns killing ****. Thats what it mostly was.

Kefka Jr.
02-15-2008, 09:14 PM
No, it wasn't!

It was mostly dudes walking down halls!

Killing happened at the end! And very few things exploded!

There should've been at least forty minutes of killing and exploded!

SirTMagus

I agree. It should've at least been forty minutes of killing and exploded.

It was a guy who had to take a dump, some sewers and some scientist chick jabbering on. And a thing stuck in a wall.

I saw it...and I wanted to rent it for one reason...

...so I could rip an animated gif of the big black guy swinging the computer monitor around his head by the cord. MY GOD THAT WAS COMEDY MAGIC.

To be fair it gets points for ending with a telefrag.

They should have made the entire movie in first person like that one segment which was way too short.

It wasn't a good movie by any stretch of the imagination. I liked it all the same though just because of how bad it was.

They should have made the entire movie in first person like that one segment which was way too short.

Agreed.

Hey guys, remember Cloverfield? :3

If only we could combine the best of Doom and Cloverfield.

TJ Miller and The Rock fighting a giant monster on Mars with a camera mounted on a BFG.

And the DOOM theme song plays throughout the entire movie.

Why did this get ressurected after a year and a half?

What's even worse is that even a year and a half went by and Kire still doesn't have the technology.

Hey guys, remember Cloverfield? :3

The cameraman didn't have a gun and a chainsaw!

If someone's going to make a movie based on a popular game series, they shouldn't make up their own plot. It's just not that cool. I'm looking at you, Spirits Within...

What do you want them to do, just copy the game's plot? Then what would be the point of making a movie at all?

What I mean is they should've kept enough material and things from the game so people wouldn't be let down. If I never knew the movie was called Doom when I watched it, I wouldn't have really guessed it was based on the Doom universe.

It was okay as far as video game movies go. But I only liked a few parts, like with Street Fighter. The only thing I really loved in that movie was Raul Julia. I laughed so hard I had to rewind it to see his scenes again a few times... but on topic, the First-Person Shooting sequence in Doom was awesome. Everything else....eh....
