    Lost Odyssey

Anyone else pick this up? Damn, I'm glad I don't put too much credence into reviews anymore. This really does feel like I'm playing another Final Fantasy...I gave up on FF12 after 10 hours of boredom and the same with Dragon Quest 8.

BTW, why is it that Dragon Quest 8 can get away with "old school gameplay" and unforgivable amounts of grinding and be hailed as an amazing game??? I've given it many shots to win me over and it fails every time.

Anyway, there's a LOT I like here...the timing system keeps me interested, the characters are great, the story is very interesting so far, the soundtrack is amazing, and the graphics are BEAUTIFUL. I even like reading the recalled memories, as they are actually presented in an interesting way with animated text, backgrounds, and sound effects. If the stories sucked, this wouldn't work.

The Gooch said in making this he was going not for innovation, but emotional response. He's definitely got it from me.

When I eventually trust the 360 enough to buy one, I'm getting this game for sure.

I am dissapointed by the packaging though. one of the discs kept in a paper sleeve? what the hell, microsoft?

      Heh.... the Gooch.....

Yes, I too got this game, since I tend to buy what ever Microsoft tells me to.

The first ten minutes in this game are some of the best first ten minutes in gaming.

This game hasn't failed to impress me yet. Which is good, I had my doubts after the lackluster Blue Dragon.

The battle system is actually very fun, and challenging too, unlike the insultingly easy Blue Dragon.

And dear LORD the music is captivating. Easily some of Nobuo Uematsu's best work yet.

You actually care about these characters too, Kaim isn't a biggoty ***** like I was afraid, he can be a bit of a grumpy gus, but c'mon, the guy has been around a thousand years. I am also really liking Lansen, basically hes Bruce Campbell. I really enjoy reading the Thousand Years of Dreams stories too.

Damn, I just wish more RPG's were more mature like this title these days.

Yeah, and while asia got a wider case.

I just threw out the sleeve, the disc can in fact fit with the others.

That's when you lost me. FFXII has been a fantastic experience for me, and DQ8 gets away with old school gameplay because it's ****ing DRAGON QUEST man. That's how the games are suppoused to be.

Apparantly, Uematsu really likes his music in this game.

I personally love all music in Lost Odyssey more than any other works I have ever done. There are many songs I would like to pick for concerts in the future.

It feels the most like Final Fantasy X. Take that as you will.

What's up with Kalm's earrings? They... don't... ever... stop.

Wait, is there potential for you not to be disappointed in something?

I can't wait to play it. what with the multiple discs, it reminds me of being a kid and playing Playstation games again
