Anyone know of a free DVD player.

For some reason Windows Media Viewer won't do it and Microsoft charges for the codec. Of if anyone knows where I can get the codec I guess that'll work too.

I cast a vote on VLC, or at least MPlayer.

VLC's interface is just such a hassle, though. With MPC, you just need to select Open DVD and you're in business.

I'm not knocking MPC, however VLC is multiplatform, so regardless of what OS you use, you can use the same media player.

Definitely MPC. Better yet, put it on a thumb drive and never have a problem playing anything. Plus it's a really small program and like Mora said, the interface is simple and very easy to use.

Ctrl + D, Alt + Enter. Glorious full screen viewing of a DVD with MPC.
