I hate having an apartment on the ground floor

My bedroom window faces the sidewalk outside, and the sidewalk is about 20feet from my window, but the building is down a little hill, so the sidewalks at window level.

Its like every person that walks by feels its their duty to stare in at me watching TV or on my computer as they walk by with their dog, or their kids. I just stare back at them. Its only winter, so its not that bad now, but come summer when theres lots of people outside its gonna be a starring contest.

AVERT YOUR EYES PEOPLE. I should just walk around my room naked or something.

Do you have blinds? If not, get some.

I thought you were gonna talk about cricket wars. That was a problem I had whenever I lived in ground floor apartments.

I have curtains, but my window faces the sun, so its nice to have warm sunlight and fresh air coming in. :/

I have a 2nd floor apt and I feel it's my duty to keep a watchful eye on those on the 1st. Either that or I'm just a nosy SoB that needs to keep himself out of others personal space. I know would have blacked out my windows by now if I were on the ground level. Damn nosy neighbors.

invert you blinds so the blades face up on the inside. that way people look in and just see blinds but the sunlight shines in too.

I'm on the second floor and I feel sorry for the poor bastard beneath me as I have creaky floors. I also have no problem walking around topless, much the same as Sez.

I lived on the bottom floor of an apartment before. I went through the same thing. It sucked. It's nice that you don't have to worry about making as much noise though. I never minded the people above me. I always had the radio on so they didn't make to much of a racket. Blinds is about all you can do. Just make sure there closed when you're doing the dirty. Nobody wants to see that. Or do they.
