<whistles> that a nice haul. as time goes on they will only increase in value. its interesting to see what the market assigns these games. i think my friend had a few of the valuable ones, but im not sure which. yard sales are a great way to pick up high value games for nearly nothing.

Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!
Card Three is released! You can find it here!

I'm surprised Castlevania Dracula X was on the list. That game was a steaming pile compared to its predecessor. It must be collectors propelling that one.

      What else can you do?

          Games I have:

          EarthBound
(I used to own Ogre Battle)
Harvest Moon (Never would of thought of this game as being rare.)
          Chrono Trigger
          Super Mario RPG
Lufia & the Fortress of Doom
Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals
          Final Fantasy 3
          Kirby Superstar
          Breath of Fire

Harvest Moon just came out on the Wii Virtual Console.
Sweet. I don't feel like putting my copy in the SNES so I'll go and download it.

I have Final Fantasy IV, V, VI; Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest V, VI (japanese imports) and Final Fantasy IV & VI (USA versions) so I'm not doing too badly. However, I can't believe I spent money on Final Fantasy IV twice, just goes to show you how much of a fan I am, because I really hate Final Fantasy IV.

              Re: The Rarest SNES Games

Surprisingly, many of the the most valuable SNES games aren’t actually rare, but are instead driven by popularity and the hunt for elusive boxed SNES games in good condition.
Seriously. Chrono Trigger and Earthbound were sold in huge numbers but the only reason they sell for so high is because they're so popular. I remember seeing a strategy guide for Arty Lightfoot in Nintendo Power and HAD to buy it but guess what? Not a single store in town sold it. I didn't find it until my family went on vacation 3 states away and it was sitting on a Babbages (the superior Gamestop) shelf.

...man, I want to go back in time so badly just to see Babbages again. I have fond memories of staring at Sonic 3 and Ronald Mcdonald in Magical Whatever Land. I liked Sonic, but Ronald Mcdonald was made by Treasure who also made Dynamite Heddy, Gunstar Heroes, and Light Crusader...

              CHOICES ARGH!

                    Re: The Rarest SNES Games

I think Megaman X3 is actually the rarest SNES game to come from a major company. it came out after the Saturn and PS1 were already out (it came out for them too), and as a result very, very few copies were made.

I retconned my previous statement in that one topic:

Now that you mentioned the commercial, I do remember the marketing campaign for the game. I remembered the scratch n sniff stickers from when I bought the thing, but I still can't seem to remember that many ads outside of NP and I subscribed to EGM and Gamepro but all I had on my mind back then was Batman action figures and drawing boobs.
If there's any more confusion, a wizard did it.

I've got Harvest Moon but I wouldn't sell that baby for nothing.

Even though it can't be that rare, it only goes for like 50 bucks around here.

No longer have a boxed copy of Ogre Battle with the manual and the fold-out maps/character stat sheet(s)....I cannot remember if there were one or two of these.

                          That's about it.

On the other end of the spectrum, I also had an NES game called Wall Street Kid that was on ebay multiple times for a penny, with no bids.

Are you insane? Unless you're selling those gems, buy yourself an SNES now!
