The Grammys Airs Tonight. (Lupe Won One!)

Three notes:

1. Amy Winehous got DENIED access to the U.S., so she has to perform via satellite. Who thinks she's going to win one with the crazy year she's been having?

2. Soulja Boy is nominated for a freaking Grammy...for Best Rap Song. Sure, it may have been #1 for 7 weeks, sold millions of ringtones, but NO...you don't get a Grammy for rudimentary lyricism.

3. My man, Kanye West, is set to perform, and kill it for the third time in almost two years. Plus, he leads the pack with 8 nominations, giving his Grammy nominations a total of 26. Impressive. Good luck, Mr. West!

The grammies always seem kind of rediculous to me. It just seems like the music industry cheapens the whole thing by coming up with as many nominations as possible. Hey look Kanye's nominated for the best featured performance by Kanye West. Just give him a singular award for best album and be done with it. It's like the Oscars giving out an award for best actor using a fake british accent.

That and I don't think I've heard a new Beyonce song in years, but she seems to be nominated for best record. Is it for that Direct TV commercial?

I only ever check out music awards to see who the nominations are, and then check out a few of them that I haven't heard of yet. Unfortunately, there's just so many because I don't pay attention to mainstream too much.

Sez: You bring up a good point. I know 'Ye whines a lot, but I really think he backs up what he says when he claims to be the best. I strongly doubt he will leave the Grammys empty-handed.
