Hello, and thank you for registering with us. This post will serve as an introduction to the site and the forums.
First off, the first thing you should do before posting is read the Rules and Regulations list here (http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11). We understand it takes time to adjust to a new online community, so don't worry if you slip up a few times at first, we won't hold it against you.
One thing I'd like to suggest that is not in the rules is the use of legible english. Note that I did not say "proper" english, because it's not uncommon for people to come here that have english as a second language, and their use of it may be a bit different than we're used to. Just the same, don't attack anyone for having strange sentence structure since you don't neccesarily know why they're doing it. Just make sure what you're typing is understandable to the rest of us. Do not replace letters with numbers. flesh out your ideas to the best of your ability. please use punctuation so your posts are easy to follow without the use of a secret decoder ring. If no one can understand you, no one can help you or offer feedback.
This being a large community, there are many differing points of view here that need to be respected. People will like things and people you dislike, and people will dislike things you like. there will be differences, and there will be arguments. it's human nature. The staff will usually intervene only if things are getting out of hand. We're not a forum that forces everyone to play together nicely, because dismissing problems and acting like they don't exist only leads to worse confrontations later on. Just try to be respectful when in a debate or heated discussion and there won't be any problems. If you don't care to try and resolve your differences, you don't have to. We have an ignore feature that will block any non-staff member's posts from your view. just go into their profile and click the ignore option. If someone is harassing you, please use the "report bad post" button that appears in each post to alert the staff. It's a little triangle with an exclamation mark inside of it.
If you want your name changed, you can go into the tech support forum to request a change. It will be done as long as you arent requesting a new username every week or so. So please don't register a new account just because you want a new "identity" here, as it will be deleted.
Moving on, what most people come here for is RPG Maker. We support all legal versions of the software, (currently RPG Maker 1, 2, 3, XP, VX, and IG Maker) but currently only host games for the console versions (this will change if we ever get submissions for the PC versions). If you need help with technical aspects of your software, head to the proper RPG Maker Workshop forum. If you wish to discuss other parts of RPG Maker usage, or just talk about your game, head to the RPG Maker General forum. If you wish, we'll even give you a dedicated forum for your projects. Just ask in the tech support forum. Make sure you include the forum name and descriptive text, or we can't make the forum.
Eventually, you will likely want to share your RPG Maker creation with the world, and download other people's games as well.
