Since VX is better then XP in almost every way, I don't see how you could be debating which you should get. Both programs have a SRP of $100, but XP sells for $60 from Download.com If you can get VX for $60 as well, then do so. If VX sells for more then that, then you can debate which you'd rather get.

Your sprite looks pretty good, by the way.

            Who told you that?

It's a minor upgrade. A simple patch could suffice.

Check out the New Functions found in RPG Maker VX. The new map creation tools alone make this more then just a simple upgrade from XP.

Most of the improvements in VX just make game creation easier without adding many new features, so it that way it is just an upgrade rather then a new game engine; However, because it's faster and easier to make RPGs with VX then XP, it is much better to get the newer version over the old one. If you already have RPG Maker XP, there is no reason to get VX beyond the new content but to say it is a minor upgrade shows that you know nothing about that new content.

The release of RPG Maker VX in NA is still set at February 2008, so it should be out soon.

I don't know if anybody is still checking this thread, but in my opinion, XP is definetly better than VX. VX is too based on squares, the terrain tilesets don't look very good at all, they don't blend together like in XP, they stick out like a sore thumb. Your literally just spraying square tiles all over the place. The sprites are also very scrunched, and not very attractive either. I also didn't find VX easier to use than XP at all. I would totally stick with XP, but thats just me.

Quite a bit of the functions though are from the 2000 and 2003 rpg makers. but there are some limitations too.
There is one thing that pretty much disturbes me in an SRPG....
