About my current rm3 project "RELIC". I'm just going to give a brief description of the game and basic gameplay elements for now. Don't expect anything fantastic right now. I'm gonna add to this, but I don't feel like doing everything at the moment. All names in my game are subject to change, as a few listed are only temporary.

Expected time of release: Hahahaha! Don't make me laugh.
PLOT:
This comes later, as it's still in development.
Basically my game is a somewhat traditional rpg. So if you don't like that, to bad for you.
I'm trying to make all the "cliche" elements as original as possible.
Basic outline is: You play as Runa, captain of the Knights of Thordain. Brynn, the Queen, has fallen deathly ill from an unknown source. Brynn is not only a beloved ruler of her people, but is considered to be a saint all over the land due to her supernatural powers of healing, and also because she is the only known "healer" left in existence. People regularly make pilgrimages to Thordain seeking out her abilities. You must find a way to cure her.
CHARACTERS:

RUNA: Human female, Knight. Knights Captain of The kingdom of Thordain. Heroine of the story. She is duty driven and values honor and virtue above all else.

GUNNAR: Dwarf male, Warrior. Long time friend of Runa, and a blacksmith in service of the kingdom. Came to live there after his home was destroyed by dark elves. He's hard as rock in the face of an enemy, but soft as clay towards those he deems as friends.

CORRAN: Human male, Ranger. Protector of the Northlunds, and skilled in the arts of combat and healing. He is at home in the elements. Charismatic and witty, a free soul who lusts for travel and adventure.

MORRIGAN: Female (unknown race), Sorceress. Character still in development.
GAMEPLAY ELEMENTS:
"Relic" is meant to play like a somewhat traditional RPG. Albeit, with more of a "Balders Gate" style of story and quests.
My game will feature random battles in certain areas of the game (almost exclusively in dungeons and maps treated as such).
"Populated" areas will not have encounters of any kind. "Boss" battles are also low in frequency.
I have a teleportation system set up so once an area has been explored (not including dungeons), you have the option of avoiding said areas.
The quests are divided into two types. Manditory and optional. The manditory quests can obviously be completed without doing the optional ones, but optional quests will yield bonus items and give experience to the player, which will make completing the manditory quests much easier.
Sort of like Balders Gate, I'm using treasure items to give brief descriptions of current available quests that you are to complete. You would simply access your treasures and look for those items labeled as "Quest" and it will provide you with descriptions and conditions so you won't forget what you have to do. (It's the best I could think of).
Some of my maps:

Mountain road. A separate map overlooking Thordain.

Some of these shots are old, so there are some minor changes in the current versions (more or less trees, decorations, terrain changes etc.).
So, if you have anything constructive to add, please do. Keep in mind that my game is still very much a shell, so changes to what I have already posted will happen.
Thanks!

Thanks for pointing that out.
