Yes. Also, the SP's screen isn't exactly "backlit". It's frontlit.

Yes, the PSP's screen is amazing. But its probably one reason the battery life is short, besides the fact that it has to spin the disk for access, which takes so much power. But hell, i never play a handheld for more than 3 or 4 hours at a time anyway, so it is perfect for me.

If you're questioning the quality of the screen, just watch one yourself. The screen is spectacular, one of the best parts of the thing.
