What kind of games do you buy?

Basically I buy games that look like I may have fun with them. This would include Soul Calibur Legends, Zelda, Godzilla: Unleashed, Steambot:Chronicles, Ar tonelico, whatever. I find that if I only go for big-name games, that I miss out on the smaller ones.

However because of that I somtimes pick out bad ones, (Star Trek Conquest... I am forcing myself to like this game.)

And by "buy" I mean even if you recieve it as a gift (like I did with STC and SCL thank goodness).

I really don't have a genre preference. Anything with customization is good in my book though.

MMORPG, strategy, RPG, FPS If it isnt Halo, Action(As per God of War) and funy/silly games (Katamari Damacy)

RPGs, Survival Horror, Shooters, Adventure, Point and Click, ect.

My favorites though, are Survival Horror and RPGs.

I usually only buy games that are part of a series that I already like, I'm pretty sure I'll like based on what I've read about it, or I rented and enjoyed. And I usually only get ones that I know will take a long time to finish or I'll play more than once. Otherwise I'll just stick with a rental. And I usually don't buy a game until it's $20. Yeah, I'm cheap.

Anyway, I'm more of a survival horror and RPG fan, but I occasionally fall in love with action games like Devil May Cry, God of War, Beyond Good and Evil, and my much beloved Metal Gear Solid.

Now that I'm an older, jaded gamer I buy games that either advertise some crazy, wacky new gameplay idea or sport an alternative art style. Some times these games are cool in the art department but pretty poor when it comes to gameplay (Killer7, Stretch Panic, Magna Carta) but other times they turn out really good (Ico, Viewtiful Joe, Okami).

I never know. Used to be that I always knew what games I would buy, nowadays it seems like I'll suddenly get an urge to buy a game and then just go buy it, while other games that I thought were must-haves I just never pick up.

I don't have the money OR time to just buy and play games all day.

Believe me, in a perfect world, I'd just lay in bed all day playing games and watching Disney Afternoon till I DIE.
