    Scene Assistance

I need some assistance with one of my game's scenes. Here's the hypothetical:

"You're a young, 19-year-old girl. You're kind, sensitive, overall the nicest girl around.

But there's a rich, old (70), greedy, selfish, conning, mafia don who's madly in love with you and is willing to give up everything he has to be with you.

What would he have to say to get you to fall in love with him during a single scene of knowing him?"

(Both characters are minor, have no control over the events in the world, and the scene takes place BEFORE any major evil is even heard of.)

I don't know that a 19 year old anything falls in love with a 70 year old anything-else in one dramatic encounter, but...

If she is the nicest, kindest person around, and he is a shifty bastard willing to give up everything for her. She might sacrifice her happiness to prevent the harm that this guy might create otherwise.

Unless, it's your idea that he hoodwinks her somehow. In which case, I've got nothing that doesn't sound melodramatic.

          What else can you do?

Who cares if it sounds melodramatic, its an RPG!

I like Shard's idea, preventing evil and such things.

              Er...

I should probably mention that both characters are minor, have no control over the events in the world, and the scene takes place BEFORE any major evil is even heard of.

And yes, the idea is that the nice pure-hearted girl actually comes to LIKE him.

Then I think you're going to have to give the old-timer at least one redeeming characteristic.

                Or, "A wizard did it."

I think Shard's suggestion could still apply well here. Let's say the old man is going crazy and about to do something very destructive or violent, and the young girl, having figured out that the man has *some* sort of special feeling, calms him down. As it turns out, the man was very lonely, so lonely he was nearly driven to insanity, but under her care he turns into something that she likes very much.

                    Re: Scene Assistance

Or you could have the old man convince the girl that he is actually a young 25-year-old man who has been imprisoned in this aging body by an evil spell cast just last night.

Oh, I just noticed Shard's second comment, and I think I duplicated it. Oh well. Full credit goes to Shard then.

                      Re: Scene Assistance

OK well, I have a few thoughts, as this is an RPG the 70 year old could be of another race and being 70 for him could be the same as being like 19 for her, If that hapens then it could just go as it would normally, or mabee with the Idea of the wizard thing he could have discovered an artifact that keeps him young for a while, or even he discovered the fountain of youth, but it was destroyed, and he only had enough water to keep him stuck young for so long and now he wants an honest life to live the rest of his days...

Wow, i have so many Ideas, wonder why I cant think of anything for my game...
