    Getting Registration Codes

So, I call up Electronic Arts 2 weeks ago and asked them about how I go about obtaining another registration code for my SimCity 4 game since I lost my original code...

EA Games Rep: "Simply mail in the last page of the instruction booklet as proof you own the game and a $10 money order and we'll send you another code."

I thought cool, that sounds alright(considering I bought SC4 for $40)...so now the hunt is on, I make out the envelope and get a money order for $10 and sit it on my desk...2 weeks later(today) I finally found the manual, and when I go to rip the page off what do I see? The registration code in big bold letters on the back page...

    wtf EA...wtf...

Here I come Pav, like the Kool-Aid man barging into a funeral! Oh yeah!

Ha ha ha! That advice is ALMOST idiot-proof. I think the rep just wanted to see if anyone would be silly enough to give 'em $10.00. Probably woulda just read your code back to you.

That's just awsome. I think honestly that the method the rep told you is valid if for some reason the code got removed from the manual.

The code is actually printed on the manual, its not a sticker, and its about 20% down the page, if it was removed, the page would have been ripped nearly in half

Either that was a snarky representative or EA actually has a sense of humor.

                  Re: Getting Registration Codes

i think she was trying to tell you that if you didnt have the manual (and hence the registration code) then you had to buy the product again. she should of told you the reg code is on the manual and finding it would mean finding the reg code, though i guess she did tell you that, just not directly.

Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!
