Mapmaking Requests

I posted this in my Game Forum, but this place gets more mileage.

In brief - mapmaking is my favorite aspect of RPGM3, and I'd rather do that than work on Torayu for the time being. I have enough ideas that I could just make a bunch for fun, but I'm willing to help, too. Thus, I'm opening the floor to you guys. What do you want me to do? You don't have to use it in a game, just something you'd like to see.

Oh, a few random pointers.

• I spend 4+ hours a map. So don't call out an idea you came up with in 30 seconds, please. -_-
• If you want to use the map, that's fine, but you need to say so when you call out the idea. Also, keep in mind that this only applies to new games (as you must edit the map pack file.)
• Keep it vague! I know what I'm doing with creativity, trust me.
• I might form this into a contest involving using the maps. This is a malformed idea, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
• Seeing as I *still* cannot take screenshots, you'll have to d/l and look yourself until I find a way to pay back Obright for all the screenshot excellence he's done thus far. xD
• Please mail me candy to eat while I make the map.

Doublepostarg, I know, but I think I must not have clarified. Even if you don't want a map for a game, is there any concept you'd like to see done...? Anything at all?

You know what I would love to see is a nice tropical place. With nice lush beaches.

Possible a marshy area. I've never really seen one of them pulled off in such a huge scope.

I have thought about doing a "map pack" too, but don't want to get destracted from Holy-Chaos. Me and a buddy did actually just start making a new game with all of our inside jokes. We're not far and I don't want to put too much effort into the map because I only work on it when he's around. If you get a set done within a month I might actually be able to use one of your maps.

So what kind of candy do you like when making maps? I doubt I'll send you any, but I'm a little curious. I like Laffy Taffy and Startburst, but you have to open them individually.

This has got to win the award for "Biggest A.D.D. Moment In Pavilion History" just for throwing the subject off so much.

I dont eat candy when making maps, I usually use premade maps and edit them to my needs

Starburst is awesome. Also, sweet tarts. I once mailed myself sweet tarts.

Actually, some guy on a different forum I go to is making a tropical map with lush beaches for Warcraft. I offered to make his map in RPGM3 as a fun tribute, and you just confirmed it Lausen.



Pending his permission, this becomes my first project.

Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, I presume? That game rules, the editor for that is really powerfull (powerfull enough to make a racing game out of an RTS ) and it isn't all that hard to figure it out.

I definately need a good map for my game Ark. If you're willing to make it, the idea is that there's a small patch (Big enough for about 2 medium towns and a small one) of lush land with it slowly dying out into a wasteland. Definately would need some desert for one of my dungeons as well. Besides that, you can go crazy. Should I get your address for the candy?
