Your advisory panel calls upon you for contest ideas!

What kind of contests would you like to see in the future? We're open to any ideas.

Remember the only stupid idea is the one not told

I don't know if I can because I'm an advisor myself, but I like the interpritation idea. Come up with a small simple consept and everyone has to come up with a story around it.

Advisory members are allowed to input their ideas, most of the RPGM people here are already on staff

I don't think so. There are a lot of the newer people who aren't on the staff, plus people who may own the software but aren't currently a part of the rpg maker "scene".

Stay on topic boys. We got a job to do...

I came up with another idea that has not been mentioned yet. It would kind of be like the sequalpalooza or however you spell that, but it would be of any game you want or have played. The thing is it would have to be kept to say maybe 5-10 hours.

To clarify, we're talking about the "Randomized Contest" idea I brought up, right? Not a contest about "Make something that's as strange/drug-induced as you can", right?

This would be a contest for RPGM3, designed to showcase the ability to make a game more dynamic using some sort of randomized content. Looking at the progression of games with the first two Makers, I feel this is the future of most of the good games for the platform. The scoring would include a heavy emphasis on the quality of the randomized content and its ability to make the game better, but would otherwise be like a "normal" make-the-best-game contest.

The most likely way to go about it would be psuedo-random-numbers, but there are definitely other ways to do it, such as seemingly-arbitrary decision branches combined with a lot of modes, or different dungeon structures each time like you'd see in the discussion for JPS' "The Dark Tower."

How Badly Do You Want It? (VX Ace) is now available for download! - no outside software necessary.

I'd like to see a contest where creators use RPG Maker 1, 2, or 3 to make a short (maximum of five-minutes) game. People could pack in as much fun and variety as they wanted but the game would have to be successfully completed in no more than five minutes. [No battles at all would be allowed in the game.]

I think it would be fun because so many more people might be interested in playing a bunch of short games than several really long ones. This would also lend itself to creators trying out games that aren't necessarily RPGs. It would be cool too because you could actually time yourself playing and post your times here at the Pav to see who finished each game the fastest. Just a crazy idea, but yeah, I like it.

My idea would be to make this topic's title grammatically correct by saying either, "Your advisory panel calls..." or "Your advisory panels call..."

I would like to see a game that is created using a random word generator (if we can find one) such as one that puts two completely unrelated words together. I remember there was a generator that made up a fake rpg game. I'd like to see more concept contests, but I know contests are mainly to help people use the game.

I'd also like to see another Beauty Contest, but this time have a swimsuit section. :P

edit- And of course we should have a Pavilion's Most Edible Emergency Food Ration. Just for kicks.

How about a contest where you have to create a game where rpg maker pavilion is a continent and you have to feature Valkysas and several important part of the staff or of the advisors on the game and create a plot by using any situation that has happened on the forums.
