    Too many desktops!

    My son(3 Y.O.) was messing with my comp and he embedded 4 desktops within one another

    OK Heres an idea of what Im looking at

    C:/Users/Jeff/Desktop -> All default saves are here, loads on startup

    C:/Users/Jeff/Desktop/Desktop ->This is empty

    C:/Users/Jeff/Desktop/Desktop/Desktop ->This is the real desktop folder(System Folder), this is SUPPOSE to be #1, this is also where all my files are at that was there prior to the incident.

    C:/Users/Jeff/Desktop/Desktop/Desktop/Desktop -> Empty

    I cant simply move the files to #1 from #3 because if I did it wont let me delete #3 because its a system folder, I cant move it to the c:/users/jeff folder then delete the other folder because its being used by windows

    your gona have to wait till your son learns computers then ask him what he did. i didnt even know you could make multiple desk tops. good lord.

        Make a new User.

        Delete the previous user ( be sure to copy any non-shortcut files to your new user that you have in the real desktop)

        Easiest fix I can come up with.

          But he messed up the master administrator account

          Can I make another administrator account?

              Yes you can.

              Very easy.

              Heck you can even change a user from limited to admin if you wanted to.

              The admin/limited thing is a joke anyhow. Even in a limited person could remove a password on the admins account then log in there.

                EDIT TO ADD:It worked, I dont know why I didnt think of that, then again, I never messed around with adding accounts or anything so I didnt know how easy it was going to be.

                      Im fairly computer savvy but it how often do I have to fix embedded desktops?

                      That didnt technically FIX the problem, but it IS a way around it.

                        It's easier to go around a problem than fix it when it comes to computers most of the time.
