I am queen of Guitar Hero 3. I have beat Guitar Hero 2 on all levels and am almost done with Guitar Hero 3. The creators need to come out with a Guitar Hero with strickly metal on it. That would be the most BADASS game ever.

Re: Guitar Hero 3
The word is spelled "strictly." Also, an all-metal GH would suck. And is there some reason you keep making topics that basically only say, "This game is badass?" Generally, if you want a conversation to develop about a particular game, you're going to have to do more than say, "I'm good at this game. I like it. It's badass."

Re: Guitar Hero 3
IMHO, "straightforward rock" as you call it, which, if you look at the track listing, includes southern rock, classic rock, metal, indie, "alternative," emo, and yes, straightforward rock, to me, is preferable to the glut of classic rock/metal in the GH series....although I DO enjoy playing both Rock Band and GH.
Long story short, no, that was not sarcasm.

Re: Guitar Hero 3
Well, the prospect of tailoring Rock Band's DLC to your liking is what really sells me. I personally can't stand the later tiers of GH 3 when it gets to the more shred oriented stuff. Not that I can't hack it, I'm able to complete it, I just dislike the music for the most part (not all of it's bad- I just don't really like guitar music THAT much).
Oh yeah, plus I get to show off my vocal skills in Rock Band, which is cool. Playing around people who've never played an instrument before is funny when they watch me play expert bass and sing on expert at the same time on the Endless setlist. They get so confused as to how coordination like that is possible.
In short, me likey Rock Band.Took me 15 minutes to remember how to change my signature, and this is all I came up with.

Re: Guitar Hero 3
By straightforward I mean they only have songs on Rock Band that are widely known and not neccesarily really fun to play.
I find that Rock Band has a good number of REALLY fun songs, but then a wide variety of songs that aren't likable and no fun to play.
While Guitar Hero doesn't have the REALLY good songs, but the songs that suck suck a lot less.[cen

Re: Guitar Hero 3
Once again, this goes back to your taste in music. I'll agree, having a Fallout Boy song on Rock Band is disgraceful, but it's made up by having stuff like The Pixies' Wave of Mutilation and some Clash songs. Hell, even Won't Get Fooled Again and Foreplay/Long Time, to me, are more fun to play than most of the "classic rock" on GH. I mean, Paint It, Black is probably my absolute favorite Rolling Stones' song, but for some reason it did not seem that much fun to play.

Re: Guitar Hero 3
The thing to remember about rock band is that the songs picked actually have unique qualities for the full band experience. Some may focus more on drums or vocals, some may have dead parts for some or even all of the instruments, but they captured the real band experience well. You don't play all the time. Sometimes the parts you play aren't amazing, but they get the job done while someone else takes center-stage. In that respect, after playing through the full game with a full band (especially if you have fun and ham it up a bit), you'll probably appreciate the song selection a bit more.
Another thing they did well was give a nod to a lot of different genres. Pop rock is still rock, regardless of how you feel about it. I think so far they are doing a good job of chronicling rock history. And if they continue to release DLC the way they are- this game will just flat out own.
But yeah - if you are looking for fun playing a "guitar game" - the guitar hero series has more challenge and a bit of an edge on solo mode.Took me 15 minutes to remember how to change my signature, and this is all I came up with.
