Hey, i just started RPGM3 about 3 or 4 days ago now, and i wanna thank everyone for all the advice in the pavillion, especially on the variables lol those were the most confusing. Well anyway im starting my game and calling it "Wings of a Dream". It starts out as you following the footsteps of a knight from the past to find the "Scarlet Ring" through the journey you Find out that there were 2 rings created from the same jewel that was used to banish a great force to another dimension many years ago. As you progress you end up fighting against the knight who's steps u were following in and retrieve 1 ring from him which ends up being cracked and opening a small portal to the Mirror world where you will commute between trying to retrieve the second ring and save the world and all that good stuff. I like the idea and am pretty excited on it so if you could give me any feedback on this plan it'd be really appreciated ^_^

Re: Just started RPGM3
Sounds good for a starter rpg. I would suggest having a deeper meaning or significances to the rings. Maybe they were part of a lover's pact between two wizards who were the ones who sealed away the demon.
But during this encounter, the lover's died, and sealed their remaining magic into the rings. And during the journey, the knight can read up, and see flashbacks to the events when the wizards were alive, and how they grew to love each other.
Just an idea to throw in some romance into the angle.

Re: Just started RPGM3
yeah well in the start of the story u see the knight of who's footsteps ur following and his purpose of the ring was to save his love from a deadly illness, while on his quest she supposedly dies and he tries to use the rings power to revive her, but you can never bring back a life thats lost, and because he tries the ring becomes cracked and creats a small warp between the worlds where demons seep through, which kinda starts it all for you.

Re: Just started RPGM3
I can't help you yet, but maybe down the line you will help me.
After researching the 3 Makers for about 6 weeks I have decided also to go with RPGM3.
I will do a demo with it first. The demo will be very basic and very simple.
It will be a project to initiate myself with the software.
Good Luck with Wings and we will keep in touch.

Re: Just started RPGM3
At the start of your game, have an invisible event somewhere that turns the NPC's display off. Then, have another invisible event that waits until V1 = 1 (in the event's activation conditions), turns the NPC's display ON, and then turns its own display OFF.Originally posted by Adamisk View Posthmmm im having some trouble with making a character disappear and re-appear, its possible right? like i want him to be invisible till variable 01 = 1 then he should appear >.> but he's either there the whole time or gone the whole time :/ anyone know how to fix that?
See, you can't have the NPC turn its own display off and on, because you're for all intents and purposes turning the EVENT off, not just its display. You have to do the turning off and on with events.Last edited by Ωbright; 01-12-2008, 03:29 AM.

The big problem with RPGM3 is that the NPC's aren't suicidal.Originally posted by Obright View PostSee, you can't have the NPC turn its own display off and on, because you're for all intents and purposes turning the EVENT off, not just its display. You have to do the turning off and on with events.

Re: Just started RPGM3
haha yeah >.>, theres a few things that are disappointing that u cant do :/ like make a person appear like he's dying or something or change the look of the item in the world so if u like want a cave to collapse, it will look collapsed afterwords on main map O.o that'd be coolOriginally posted by hitogoroshi View PostThe big problem with RPGM3 is that the NPC's aren't suicidal.
