Hoshigami is just really... generic. The battle system is kinda unique but at the same time really broken. The storyline is your typical anime fluff (16 year old mercenary and a slightly older war veteran are hired to do a job or something cue a 2 hour WALL OF TEXT cinema blah blah blah). The cutscenes also employ Anime Rule #7 I.E. characters talk for hours but nothing relevant is said.
It does look great and it honestly has some deep and engrossing gameplay but if you can get over the fact that the game itself is really nothing special then you might enjoy it.
I have the DS game, I am sure I would play it moer if battles didn't take FOREVER and the graphics are way too dark for me even to see (The last handheld game I had this much trouble seeing was that first Castlevaina game on the GBA with out a backlit screen.
