My Day at the LA Ren. Fest!!!

Well, guys, it's that time for an epic topic!

A couple weeks ago me and three close friends decided to pay the Louisiana Renaissance Festival a visit! The village known as Albright is a full, living, breathing, Medieval village with real time actors running everything. It's great, the whole experience: shows, food, games, and plenty of music- all from the Middle Ages!

So, I decided to let you guys look into the awesome trip and see for yourself!!

That's us before we left. We sure were ready for fun!
From left to right: Chris, Daniel, Me(Josh), Forrest

That's all of us hanging out with Paolo, the fire juggler!

We had a blast! Most fun we've all had in a long time, for sure.

    KING OF THE LOG CHRONICLES

An attraction at the fair was known as "King of the Log". The game is simple. Two contestants get on a log and are equipped with a pillow. The object: knock the other player off. Best three of five moves on!

We loved the idea, so we all put it in and set up a little bracket!
The first match was between Chris and Forrest.

After close matches, the final victor was Forrest with 3 wins to 2. He moved on to the championship round.

The next match was between myself and Daniel. It came down to 2 on 2, so whoever won the next match got to move on. Sadly, I lost...

In the final match, the championship, Daniel destroyed Forrest and easily took the prize. I was sad that I lost, but I'm happy to know that my best friend is King of the Log!

    THE AFTER PARTY!! WOO!!

After we had such a fun day at the Ren Fair...
We just had to take in a gorgeous sunset and rest our feet.

But the fun didn't stop there!
After the fest, we left and caught a 7 o clock IMAX showing of
    Beowulf!

Our review: The general consensus of all four of us was the same. We didn't really like it... at all. We had all ready the story and had problems with how much it strayed. But in the end, we just didn't find it as exciting as we would like and instead of the classic story, it replaces it with one that just isn't as good...

But we still had some stuff left to do! The party continues at my house where we had the two best things to end the night: beer and Rock Band!

Our band: Stix Stones and Baskets.

We played Rock Band for a good 3 hours on World Tour Mode. Best fun we all had in along time. I was singer/guitarist, Daniel was singer/guitarist, Chris on bass and Forrest on drums. Soooooooo much fun!!!!

Then the beer pong tourney starts! We decided to do double elimination style. After all was said and done, the final teams in the finals were:

Me and Daniel vs. Chris and Forrest.

But this time... We won! Me and Daniel were official champs. I guess it's hard to lose when you've got the "King of the Log" on your team. Hehe.

After all was said and done, it was a great day! I hope you guys enjoyed hearing about it. I enjoyed the day so much so, that I even made a video to commemorate it!

So, I hope you guys liked hearing about this. Make sure you watch the special video! Bye, guys!

Should've invited Randy to the beer pong.

Man, I'm totally disappointed in you. Invite your King of the Log friend to post. Don't want to talk to no losers.

We wanted to dress up but didn't have any costumes.

And I wish Randy would have been there.

And if Daniel wanted to, then sure I bet he would post here. But he would demand a certain level of respect. As "King of the Log", I mean.

You should've said something like "Verily and forsooth such ribald festivities hath embiggened thine noble spirits."

It reminded me of Brave Fencer Musashi, and why I love that game so much.

                        No.

I still have fond memories of *****ing that there was a separate command for 'STAIRS'.

Yeah, for the longest time, I sort of remembered the "famous" dialogue exchange in that game, but forgot the exact details...until a few weeks ago in the video game forum, when I was reminded that it went as follows:

                            "Dost thou love me?"
                            "No."
                            "But thou must!"

                            Good times.
